How well do Tahoes hold up past 100K? Help

2002 mileage 320k front drive shafts otherwise all normal (other than what the Wife busted while killing an elk out of season on US101)

    Front shock question

Have been planning a torsion key front lift on a 02 Tahoe with upgrade to Bilstein 5100 shocks (#F4-BE5-C153-H1) as well as new longer/stiffer coils in the rear + 5100 shocks there as well. It seems to me that with the lift the old front shock (OEM equivalent Bilstein #F4-BE5-6500-H1 at 11"...

how many miles on your hoe

Might be the difference between the US gallon and the Imperial gallon. 22 Imp USG = 18 US mpg. Conversion is 1.2 USgallon = 1 Imp gallon

    Auxillary fuel tanks

Still better than the 80's 3/4t Suburban I had - but ther problem for me with the smaller vehicles is being able to rack out (6'2") The Tahoe barely makes it as it is because of the way the seats fold forward and needing an inch or two between feet and door (metal conducts cold and sleeping bag...

Never mind - found out they are the internal GM platform names behind the badges we see....

Please excuse my ignorance, but what are these vehicles?

    Auxillary fuel tanks

I work as a flight nurse/medic and we have bases in Inuvik and Yellowknife, I have friends in Whitehorse, and family in Edmonton. Google these cities in Canada as well as Grande Prairie. Inuvik-Whitehorse = 761 miles, no 24 hour gas stations, Eagle plains only open sporadically in winter...

    Coil Spacer Dimensions, help.

Hmmm...I have heard of using Z71 Suburban 1500 rear colis for more load capacity but they might give 1/4-1/2" of lift - isn't the H2 frame/suspension basically a rebodied Sub? Anyone done that coil swap? what lift did you get? What is the load rating compared to stock Tahoe?

    Auxillary fuel tanks

Looking at increasing fuel capacity in an '02 Tahoe. Want 1000 miles between fills at max 60mph (can be a long way between open fuel stations in the arctic). With the stock tank get about 360. So I am assuming I will need about another 40-45 gallons. First idea was to locate a repacement...

    Tires/Wheels

AT/KO's, good handling for my driving style although if you want to go fast in heavy rain they may hydroplane if you hit deep/long puddle at speed - they won't shed water as fast as a wet weather tire. They are rated for snow and ice, and in Portlands recent "blizzard" they worked fine. OK grip...

    Tires/Wheels

rubbing only rubs when front end compressed and full lock or when I had 60 8x8x16" concrete bricks in the back!

    What Size Tires?

I put 33's (287/75R16) on with no problems - minor rubber to plastic inner liner rubbing at full lock/braking and in rear when heavily loaded. Levelling would fix the front end rubbing and more sensibly loading the cargo area will resolve the rear:lol:
