99 - cat, spider injectors, O2 sensors - now heated seat quit = it's JUNK

Haven't posted for a while, but have still been trying to narrow down the probs with my 99 Tahoe - when I have the time. It's been 1 thing after another with this truck and I know you're all going to hate me for saying this but..... WTF did I expect? I had a great experience with my 95 but let's...

Back again with 99 Tahoe troubles

Hey all, hope everyone's having a good holiday season, and thanks to all of you who helped out with my previous issues on this truck. Here's the latest - since correcting the fuel injector issue I've been driving the truck regularly for work and around town. It's been running pretty good, but...

    Driveline "clunk" is back

Thanks lester. I found a bunch of stuff as I was searching around about this as well - the marine grease I used lasted for a little more than a week, I found a posting where someone said they had used anti-seize and had good results for 6+ months. I tried that and had similar results as with the...

    Driveline "clunk" is back

I read about the plated yoke - also about not greasing the front shaft yoke, the one that goes into the transfer case, but it seems pretty common that guys have been lubing the yoke on the rear shaft. I know that's where my noise is coming from because it went away for about a week or so after I...

    Driveline "clunk" is back

Hey Guys, Back again... well, in one of my last posts I was so pleased to have put to rest the driveline clunk in my 99 - I lubed the slip yoke with some marine grade grease and the problem "magically" went away - for about a week. If anyone has an idea of how I might exact a more...

    Back to the tranny shop?

Sam - what year Tahoe? I actually did replace tps on mine, looking for the cause of my other problem - wasn't too expensive actually. I read a bunch of posts about this same issue all over the web. Some people chalked it up to "normal" operation of the trans, a few had luck changing out basic...

    Back to the tranny shop?

I know, I know. I was surprised at no grease at all on the splines when I pulled it apart too. You know, my dad always said, "if you want something done right, plan on doing it yourself". Holds true more times than I wanted to believe, especially nowadays. The "hunting" problem seems markedly...

    hesitation/bucking in my 99 Tahoe

Tex - just to sort of close out this thread...... An adventure indeed, and as you can well imagine, a lasting distaste for the previous owner and all of his "misinformation". I have to say though, today I drove the truck around with NO annoying buck or hesitation, and NO driveline clunk - and...

    Back to the tranny shop?

Hi all - Any of you who followed my last thread regarding the bucking, hesitation in my 99 Tahoe will be glad to know - now that the issue has been resolved the truck is almost like brand new. Today I remedied another issue - the "clunk" in the driveline. I removed the driveshaft and applied...

    hesitation/bucking in my 99 Tahoe

Listen - I really don't even consider myself a "backyard mechanic". I mean, I do my own basic maintenance stuff, and out of necessity I have occasionally taken on projects that would probably be best left to someone who fixes cars for a living - I fix houses... In the end there were 6 of 8 fuel...

    hesitation/bucking in my 99 Tahoe

Tex - the crescendo will be after I get this thing back together and roll it down the road. I'm in the upper plenum now and guess what - multiple injector sets are REVERSED! Thank you rocken!

    hesitation/bucking in my 99 Tahoe

I get it. I think I'm going to start with a new set of plugs and wires tomorrow and see if it changes things, barring any change I'll likely be diving into pulling the upper plenum and taking a look at things. If I can't figure this out I'll definitely try the resistor - just seems better to fix...

    hesitation/bucking in my 99 Tahoe

Lester - very funny about the injector harness! I'm confused about the resistor thing - do you think if I replace the sensor with the right resistor I can get the truck to run with the right air/fuel mixture, have TCC lockup, etc. but still fool the PCM?

    hesitation/bucking in my 99 Tahoe

That's just dandy. From what I can see about the process of getting at the injectors it's not something I'd have a very easy time doing myself. I sure hate to pay someone to go on a "hunting" mission only to find that like all of the other roads I've gone down it's the wrong one....
