Something quick and cheap ( assuming you checked fuses) - check connector on stop light switch . Top of the brake pedal arm. If that looks tight , ensure it is making contact and lastly bypass it with a wire jumper ..

My previous 2003 LS 4wd had impressive brakes with 13 " rotors, dual piston brakes in the rear and as big or bigger in the front. I never did wear out the brakes - front or rear at 100k miles. Changed the plugs in my previous 2003 with iridium AC plugs. Cannot remember the exact gap, but was over .030 for sure. The old plugs were eroded and over size by fair amount. New ones were spot on.
