I was told by a GM mechanic that you need to touch the pos. and neg. cables together to reset the ecu when I changed my encoder motor.
You must have them both disconnected to do this obviously.
Mustang dynos do show that... but in an earlier post I did explain that our dyno was in the middle of a 15000 mile tune up and the smart tach was inoperable at the time... I also explained that the only AF log I could have used was from the Tail pipe... Not very accurate.

You need to make sure that the place that is going to install the alarm is comfortable with whatever unit you are going to buy... otherwise, you are in for a nightmare
DO not start the car...
Turn key to the "ON" position Let sit in that position for 12 to 15 min or until the light goes off...
If light goes off... Turn key to off position and try to start the car as normal.
You MUST turn the ignition back off after the light goes off. that completes...
If the air is Pulled up to the IC using an Deflector such in the way we did it on our TT C5 then it works... We dropped AIT's by 70 degrees as opposed to the old design where it was trying to get forced in in front of the radiator.

Put the key in the ign and turn it all the way forward to the IGNITION position without starting the truck. Now leave to key in this position for at least 12 mins. After 12 mins or so, turn the key back to the OFF/LOCK position then forward again to start the truck.

DEI is Viper, Phython, Code alarm Ect. Best buy will do an OK job but IMO they suck!!! they have one way of installing them and that is it!!!
I had a guy from best buy come and work for me doing remote starts and he was terrible.

I would find a local shop that carrys DEI products and have it installed there. Look into a system that can alert you through a text message or phone call that your Alarm is going off. 2 way units only go so far. If you are in a mall or shopping center... dont even think...
