I work at a car audio shop myself. Yellow top is a deep cycle battery and meant to be drained and recharged. A starter battery can be drained only a few times before it is junk.
I'm not saying you can't put a deep cycle battery under the hood but why would you drain your main battery you use...
Normally you don't have to reprogram but something may have happened. Sounds like it may have lost programming. Not sure if you can do it on your own or just run to a dealership quick and have them reprogram.
Only other thing I can think of is by coincidence, the battery in your key fob went...
I only wanted the auto headlights to not come on when I remote start so I made a circuit with the information using a relay. This is how to do it.
86 - Ground out when running from Remote Start
85 - +12 Volts
87 - Gray or white wire from BCM
30 - 1.5k Ohm Resistor and gray or white wire...
Only a temporary installation until I have time for something more permanent.
I traded a 4 door tint job at work for it. PC/Screen/GPS Receiver. Not a bad deal.
Sorry for crappy pics from cellphone.
I put the key in the ignition and the headlights come on and when you crank, they turn off for a split second and sometimes one doesn't or they both don't come back on.
Anyone find a work-a-round for this?
THanks,
Travis
