I am going to be venturing in the task of changing my rear main seal on a 01 4x4 5.3l. I have the book on how to do it by their procedure just wondering if anyone else as attempted this and has any suggestions?

01 tahoe 4x4 160,000mls thats been leaving a spot overnight. I got under it today and found that it is tranny fluid coming from the bell housing and engine block. im guessing i need a new seal on torque comverter? any other ideas? thanks

I for one always change plugs with wires. and its a straight foward change take out old and put in new ones with the antiseize. and I dont have my car in front of me right now but if you look on top of your radiator and by the picture of your pulleys in the writing they say what the gap should...

I would bet on the fuel pump. I find they only last for close to 120,000 miles. and I dont believe it will throw a code on it. Just check your fuel pressure with just turning your key to on position and let pump primp and report your findings.

thanks for the info. i replaced o2 sensor. no change except it wont start at all now. I changed fuel filter just cause it looked dirty, while i had it off i turned key to on and fuel came out. got new filter on and it started up and i pushed gas and it died and wont start again. put fuel gage on...

i got a actron it reads a code of P0420 which is o2 sensor in back 1. is this the pass or driver side one?

would it also be possible to be a stuck egr valve. i have a 94 blazer 4.3l that acted pretty close to the same when its egr stuck.
