    Engine Operating Temperature

Well, thanks one and all for the help. You've given me an idea, which is to jack into the ODB-II port and see what the truck itself thinks the coolant temp is. I'm being to suspect that I've got a stuck open thermostat, which i can monitor by comparing coolant temp to upper rad hose temp. Let...

    Engine Operating Temperature

Sorry, one tries to post all relevant info. He was measuring the coolant at the radiator where the cap fits (the neck?) using a thermometer and the engine at idle.

    Engine Operating Temperature

I just had all of the fluids changed on my "99 4WD, and the tech said that he thought the thermostat was not opening all of the way since he could only get the engine up to 180-185 degrees. I have the trailer towing package, so I have lots of cooling. The tech said normal temp should be 206...

    99 Yukon Radiator Drain Plug

I found the little dude. Above info correct - left (driver's side) at the bottom. Service manual says remove with 1/4 in ratchet - I can't reach it, either from below or from going in past the brake fluid reservoir. I'll just have somebody flush it. So much for do-it-yourself. Thanks...

    Central AC/Heater Panel

Checked IP Fuse Block. Found Fuses 5, 6, 24, 18, and 12 to be at 6 VDC.This is the common point for my problems with cruise control, AC, 4WD, etc. All of these fuses connect to C266 wire 300 ORN from the Ignition Switch. I have to dismantle the steering column to get to the connector, but a...

    Central AC/Heater Panel

Nothing in the Central AC/Heater control panel works. No heated mirror, no blower, and of course, no AC. No 4WD indicator lights. No cruise control either. I get varying instrument panel indicator lights; ABS Service, 4WD service. No trouble codes. When I vary the blower control switch, I...
