Hi,
I have a chevy Tahoe LT 2004, live in Norway and now with the EU control they want me to show the stamped VIN or chassis number on the frame.
However i cant find it on the place on the frame under the passenger site.
I read also somewhere that this was located on a big white sticker?? ...and i do see somekind of rectangle shape all the way left of that whole. Could it be...???
Does anybody know about this, where to find the frame VIN number or serial number?
Yes these guys do difficult here in Norway not always as this car is 17 years old and never had any problems about a stamped serial VIN number in the frame.
All info on this is more then welcome.
Thanks alot.

I have never had to look for a frame VIN number before. I have seen them on the right side but no particular location depending on the vehicle. It can be behind the RF tire along the frame or anywhere on that side of the frame. Sorry, but I am used to the one at the DS w/s area and the D/S door jam. I think someone told me there is one under the drivers seat somewhere. Good luck.

Hello PNW NBS Z71,

Thank you for your reply in this matter.
In the meantime i did find it indeed on the frame, right side location exactly under the middle of the passenger front door.
I cleared already approx 60cm of Mercasol coating from the frame, which took me more then an hour to dissolve, and found nothing.
Then after talking to some guys and you, i decided to clear further backwards and there is was, heavily corroded but still visible.
I fully agree that normally we use the VIN number on the dash under the window left side.
But as i said some people are just difficult. Anyway i can go on now for anothert two years.
I will ask the Traffic Authorities if i can stamp the number in again in the frame before this one is gone for ever.
Frank.

Bonjour à tous, j'ai un Tahoe 2008 et je ne trouve plus le vin sur le châssis du véhicule.
Merci si quelqu'un sait ou il se trouve plus ou moins.
