easiest way to see if its 2wd or 4x4. turn your wheel all the way to the left and look inside behind the drivers front wheel. if you see a shaft that goes to the center of the wheel hub then its 4x4. yet if there is a hole where it looks like something would go there in the center of the hub...
had the same problem when I first bought my hoe, check the vent valve by the gas tank, the purge solenoid, on top by the intake manifold. I ended up using air to blow out my charcoal canister and fixed everything, after I replaced a bunch of stuff lol but lesson learned.
tahoety: to answer your question, you might have a wire that was pinched underneath and is touching another wire for the other turn signal, its a pretty simple set up you just need to unloom your harness underneath near the frame and trace.
PEBO! I used to install these wirings when I worked at uhaul. the reason your 12v supply isn't working is because its not hooked up, when I would install a trailer brake system on the chevy's you have to find the wires that are taped beside the loom by the fuse box and hook them up accordingly...

take out one bank o2 sensor at a time. and make sure its the upstream. if it runs better with a particular sensor out then that side catalytic converter is clogged
