    Transmission Fluid/Filter

99' Tahoe with typical 350 engine and tranny - I am doing a 200K mile tune up and can't seem to remember how much fluid I need for transmission. I'm not going to flush it since it is a bit old, just a typical filter and fluid chenge. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    FUEL PUMP!!!

Always try to get a pump from NAPA or GM Direct if the need ever comes to be once again. Those which are available at autozone, o'reillys, etc. are of a weaker quality diaphram and tend to fail prematurely.

    Wiring issues

Your new alternator is putting out a better charge than the old one. Some of the older bulbs in your courtesy lights were ok with the weak alternator but could not handle the better voltage and may have fused inside the bulb, they sometimes still work but you will have to take one out at a time...

    cruise control issue

Ohm out the switch and look for chaffing around the base of the blinker control arm. It seems like everyone that has problems with these replaced the harness and never could find the actual problem. Mine was the switch, it was poorly designed. Must have been made by the same folks that made...

    cruise control issue

It's actually very common. It is most likely to be in the wiring on the steering column.

cranks only if gas is poured in.....

My dads 97 is doing the same thing. But to go further - once he does this to get it started it runs great and starts right up the rest of the day with no other defects noted. A friend told him that there is a sensor that wants a pressure of a certain amount (cant remember the psi) and that the...

    AIR!!!

Your problem really sounds like the blend door is sticking. Check the back air and see if it's cooler. But on those sealers, if you go down to the NAPA store they have a Freon mix called high milage that cantains a sealer and some type of conditioning agent, works great unless the leak is...

    Courtesy/Dash Lighting failure

The truck has developed an intermittant short in the lighting circuit :au: which encompassed the dash and courtesy lighting (20A Fused). A fuse was blown while driving time 10 minutes, with lights on at a constant 75mph on smooth wet road with a moderate rain shower. I suspected that the trailor...

why am I a Noob now??

I like being a noob. That way if I say something stupid it is taken with a grain of salt. By the way, does anybody know if I will get a rub if I take the tires from my 75' MG Midget and place them on the Tahoe and will there be any brake drum clearance issues. - I have my front end lifted one...

    Pulls right on hard acceleration

    1999 Yukon SLT

Also listen for the fuel pump, if you can hear it running while standing at the front bumper then it is on the way out. They get real whiny near the end of their life cycle, $225 and it's in the tank so a bit of pain to change.

SL, SLE, SLT.. what do they mean

--snip from ask.cars.com-- LT is a trim level found across the Chevrolet lineup on its cars, trucks and SUVs. LT isn't an acronym for something like “Luxury Touring†on newer models. According to a Chevrolet representative, it’s simply a code for higher-optioned trim designations. At...

    Fuel Pump

Have you calculated your fuel cons. yet. I mean by fill up tank; drive 500 km; fill up again and see how much fuel was used. Another thought is your old pump was starving your engine. Or, had a different range on the fuel gauge causing you to think it is near empty when it still has a quarter...
