I have both a 2004 z71 and 2014 z71, both are superb machines thus their high resale values. Gmt900 is great evolution of the older gen, especially in the case of minimalist design and I love the 6 speed trans.
I understand your frustration. Thanks for the detailed write up. Ironically I have the tahoe going in for warranty work sat. Roof ditch molding came undone, water leak from drivers side a pillar, grinding window on rear paasenger, and loose driver rear mirror.
I may be in the minority, but I think the older generation GMT900 were pretty solid vehicles with minor outliers in the group.
Which Tahoe do you drive?
I recently test drove the new Tahoe, and they are quite nice. The tech in them is amazing. I really though could not appreciate the new styling cues, especially the headlight design. The Z71 package on the new Tahoe was a major let down as far as the look of it. Looked too similar to the base LS...
6000lbs is decent weight and depending on grading may be engine and transmission cooling, I think nealry all tahoes have towing package.....maybe standard
Yeah, I hate to disagree, but the 5.3 Iron Block is bulletproof. Many have upwards of 200k no problem. Sorry that your particular motor is bad, few outliers do exist from time to time. Heavy duty engine and very durable.
Its is not a big deal, but I understand the concern. GM is getting better about these issues, and many other vehicles have the same issues. I was looking at a 2015 Tahoe a few weeks ago and realized there were a few of them with the same door misalignment issues as well.
So, I posted a thread a while back. I had the same issue on a brand new Tahoe. The Drivers Set Doors were not flush with body. The dealer said they could align it, but I refused due to the fact that wind noise could have been increased with the alignment.
The 9-speaker system includes a subwoofer in the center console and includes:
Digital amplification
SurroundStage® signal processing circuitry
Bose® AudioPilot® noise compensation technology
Specs are really hard to locate. I dont know if they do this to protect proprietary information. All I can say is the centerpoint Bose System in the LTZ is unreal......
