Now that pisses me off. My tahoe has 138000 on it and it may be the same issue. It also may not be. Im gonna take it to the chevy dealer here in town for a free brake inspection, and right when the figure it out, im gonna peel outta there and go by the parts myself. Screw the dealer...
dont smell anything burning, but Ive done a little research and the ****ty rubber brake lines could be part of my problem. just ordered some gstop brake lines. peckmv let me know what the dealer dudes say. thanks
Not sure what the hell is going on here but heres my problem. Everytime I go to stop and start to come on the up to a complete stop, my brakes lock up and the abs kicks in . Not only that but it actually feels like the pressure in the brakes themselves gets really stiiff and the brakes are hard...
anyone ever replaced the gas tank cover/shield on a late model tahoe like my 97? Is it something I can tackle? part # was 157332111 if that helps. thanks and please post some replys;)
Just wonering. My 97 already has a cold air intake in it stock. If i add the k&n air filter($60) will it help with power and gas mileage better than the bs fram I have in it now? thanks:yaya:
autozone will scan any check engine code free...but i think you have a dist. cap problem. change the cap n rotor and why you are at it change the plugs wires, air filter too. can just about gurantee this will fix her up. if not you got a bad fuel pump or fuel filter....
go with a set of pacesetter header (230), 2 cats (200), and 2 40 series flowmasters(160). This setup will give you a GREAT sound, GREAT performance, AND GREAT uh,,just plain great!
135000 on my 97 and its dam fast. I love to see all the owners with over 100 or 150000 miles and the truck still looks and rides great.
If Im not in a chevy..... Im walking
As for me I got a great tahoe. Mine if one of the lucky ones that has the 255hp stock. A few add-ons later and this bad ass 97 can keep up with any new tahoe or expo or anything suv around
 Been catching alot of sht from Ford Expedition owners lately. Wondering what the general take is on them dam fords? haha They love to boost and brag about expos being better than Tahoes. The hell?:cuss: Anyways just wondering if anyone has raced a ford expo lately? Hope you whooped em.
 I just had my 97 done with flowmaster 40s. First off let me start by saying the hell with magnaflow and thumbs up too flowmaster:thumbsup: My tahoe sounds unreal. The growling in park alone is enough to scare you. Dam good investment.
Now then, to your question...I had the same issue...
