Welcome! I got mine from a dealership. At the time, Chevy was giving a 3,000 rebate so I paid 35,500 or something. The price is going to depend on what trim package and options you choose as well as the dealership. I would say it would be in the neighborhood of 32K-45K.
It rides nice and handles great. There is less suspension travel so it doesn't feel like you are floating on a cloud anymore. As with any lowered vehicle, you trade off a little comfort for performance. To each his own!
As for the size, they are 275 55 r20's and IIRC, the offset is +40...
Congrats on the score! The '02 is a great truck. I would recommend doing a CAI and exhaust. You'll get some better low end power and it'll sound bad azz. Good luck!
You shouldn't have any problems with that set up. I would recommend the Mc Gaughy's if you want superior ride quality, and eibach if you want ease of install with a great price. I went the latter route, and I'm very happy with the ride.
That is the only AEM anything I've ever had. I was impressed, but I'm a K&N buyer for the most part. The way I see it, if you can get a slightly used CAI from somebody or a new one for a great price, jump all over it.
Welcome! In a word, yes. The Tahoe is very capable. I have 3 kids and they give the truck a beating daily. Not only is it agile and powerful, but it is constructed thoughtfully and is roomy as hell! I would recommend going to a dealership and checking one out. I have owned all three...
I had an AEM Air Raid CAI on my '02 and it was bad azz. The price is really coming down on these too. Check out these options: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/performance/brand.php?makeid=5&modelid=49&year=2000&partid=15
