I'm going to remove the 3rd brake light on Tuesday to take for paint. I've heard that it's tricky. Does anyone have any tips before I dive head first into this?
Thanks in advance!
Can anyone post the bulb numbers for the front headlights? I'm looking for the high beams, low beams, and amber turn signals. I looked in the manual but for some odd reason it only shows bulb numbers for the rear bulbs.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
I cannot get this damn light apart to save my life. I have spent about two hours now on it and just cant seem to figure it out. I've baked the light over and over. I seem to be able to break the seal under the black lip of the back of the housing but can't seem to pull it apart...
Probably a stupid question, but when you take the headlight out of the oven, is the headlight hot as hell? Did you wear mittens or something?
I just ordered a used headlight off ebay so I can try this
You just have to get back there and press the socket pretty decent and expect to make very small turns. At first it will seem like you aren't moving it, but it really is moving a bit....
Front bowtie (EASY): Open the hood. Stick your hand behind the bowtie and you will feel two 10mm speedbolts that need to be removed. Once removed, just pull the bowtie off w/ minimal effort as there is a little adhesive holding it on.
Rear bowtie (PITA): You have to get fishing line or...
I definitely do not drive like a grandma, but I also don't floor it every chance I get and I average 15.5-16.5. Thats w/ about 50% highway and 50% stop and go driving,
Did you loosen all the clamps and then do that, or just the rear ones?
I've already driven for about 30min at a time and haven't had a problem, but I would like to be better safe than sorry...
I DID IT!!!
WHOO HOO!!! Man, its a great feeling when you just pump up your raisins, go for it, and get it done. Thanks to everyone who replied w/ tips and help. It sounds great so far (I've only started her up and let her sit at idle for a few minutes). After I shower up, I'll...
Jeeze. I just priced some online and I'm looking at $100-$200. I really wasn't hoping to spend that much on one but really want to do the install on my own.... I guess I'll have to sleep on this one and figure it out in the morning....
Thanks for all of the great feedback. I'm going to try the install either tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. My only concerns are the cutting (b/c I don't think this rinky dink saw I have will do it) and removing the hangers (b/c I don't really have any thing that I think will work)...
THANK YOU for the referal to the Corsa site.... The directions that were sent w/ the Magnaflow system weren't even close to detailed like the Corsa's directions. The Magnaflow basically says, "take the stock system off, and put the new sytem on." But now I think I can tackle it.
One more...
Well, I finally got my Magnaflow catback in and now I'm second guessing my ability to do the install. I've never done an exhaust install before and really thought I could do this until I realized that I have to make a cut on the original exhaust. I don't even think I have anything that would...
