what would you recommend as a less expensive alternative? say only $1000 to $2000?

My 07 LTZ came with the chrome mirrors, door handles, and grill. I had all the chrome switched out for black except the grill. So yes, they are removable, but to match the color of the truck you will need to get new covers.
