Well back again, I still can't get this thing to do any better then 22.5 mpg back and forth to work and what not. It is mixed city and a little high way.
I did change a few things out with the front bumper and lights, nothing to do with milage. Maybe it I put the stock wheels back on, it...
Ok after the dyno I was real pleased to see a 49 hp jump from stock. I will figure out how to scan the dyno sheet soon. I have been city driving getting 22.5. I can't drive it any better, 22.5 is the best I can do. I have not had time to install the new fans and harness, but from what I read...
Because the end of the intake is "barbed" to hold the cupler in place, plus the mounting for the heat sheild will not reach then. You really have to put one on to understand.

Hey brad, no there is no difference in cooling. You are only going to trim the fan if you install a intake and TB spacer. On top of that you only tril about 3/8of an inch anyways. I used a tin snips, I hope you have strong hands.
Good luck

As of right now I am still testing all of this using the cheap oil. Back in school we messed around with the pro's and con's of the cheap oil and the top shelf. We never saw a difference in what we tested.
So after the burn, my tahoe feels like a rocket. I will be putting it on the dyno in...
The spacer helps the flow of the air into the intake. I got the tune done by a local shop that charges 500 for the dyno tune. I just had it done after hours. I had to by beer and pizza. After the pulleys and fans, plus the cat back I will get the tank close to 25mpg.

Here is a good deal on the entire pulley set. The plus and wires were from e bay. 10mm wires and plat plugs.

Back for a little update here. I hit 20.1 a few weeks ago and now with the weather being around 0 here I can't seem to get back to 20mpg. I did however have a custom tune put in my truck last night....wow what a difference. I am not talking about one of the hand held tuners. This guy changed a...
20 MPG!!!!!!!!!!!
I just kissed 20.1 mpg in my truck, Now I have to try the electric fans, and a under drive pulley. If shipping is fast I will have a new update monday or so.
423 miles on 21 gallons of gas!!!!!!
So I have been messing around with my 02 5.3 2wd Tahoe to see if I can get it to turn 25 mpg. Now I know I am aiming alittle high, but what the hell. So far I have installed a K&N intake system, a SS throttle body spacer. I went from 14 mpg to 18.8 on the last tank of fuel. I just changed plugs...
Whats up all, I just got done putting a roll pan and a hidden hitch on my tahoe. The pan is a ABS plastic, and was made to fit very nice. No trimming at all. The hitch on the other hand sucked. I had to redrill the holes to match up to the holes in the frame, but no biggy. The pan was 135 after...
We have a truck parts store here in Elk River and he always has the best prices around. The fan took 10 mins to trim the blades with a side cuter. I will have an update on gas mileage maybe this weekend.

Hey everyone, I just installed a K&N intake, with a thotlebody spacer. I am so pissed I waited this long to buy on. It is night a day with response, and you do not need to get into the gas when trying to pass. It feels so much smoother when takinging off from a stop light. The sheets say that...
