    service engine issue

    2000 5.3 tahoe service engine light blinks then stays on when fuel tank gets just below half. after filling up with 93 octane the light goes off. When the fuel gets to this half level i also hear the fuel pump whining. both issues go away when the tank is filled? is this fuel pump related?
