About to buy a Tahoe - advice please

They make more sense for city driving. They aren't much better than conventional on the interstate.

What kind of navagation do you use?

I have the Garmin 496. It has roads, everything aviation, Xm weather, XM radio, POIs, and marine charts with the G2 chip. I use it for all of my transportation methods, car, boat, plane, even commercial air travel when they let me. I can even let someone use it in all modes while I am...

The wife wants her Tahoe lifted.

Is she trying to get over some high curbs? Or do you live in a flood prone area? Why lift something that is so high off the ground already? It is just harder to get in and out of it. May it looks good to some people, I don't know.

A/C and remote start- Why doesn't it work?

You don't need A/C in California! It's dry and comfortable out there. Maybe the greenies out there disabled the "feature". :D It works on my LT3/SL4 or whatever it is. I do have to hit the lock button before pushing the remote start, but the A/C is on high by the time I get in.

    LTZ 07 Tahoe Mileage 3.73

I have the 07 Yukon XL 5.3 liter with 3.73 and I average around 14 mpg. If I am driving Interstate speeds and no city driving I can get 18 mpg. If I am going 45 on open highway I can get 20 or 21 mpg. Pulling a 17' boat, open road, about 12-13 mpg. I get a lower average mpg than I did in...

Buying this week, need help with options

I went with the LT3 package as well, but no sunroof as I don't use it on the Lexus at all. I also abhor the DVD concept - having your passengers totally ignore you while hitching a ride with you. I wouldn't do that for or to kids either. They can open their eyes to the outside world once in a...

For the life of me, can NOT get homelink to work...

I had the same issue with a Linear opener. All was fine on my 99 Suburban, and my 2007 Lexus, just this homelink system had a rank amateur writing the code for it. The fix is to add on a second unit like the one that comes with the door. If I have the one that came with the door, why should I...

    Post your Tahoe peeves here

That could be a really easy computer setting, but I don't think we will see it.

    Post your Tahoe peeves here

Pet Peeves I would think they could set the vacuum or computer so that the car, in 4 cylinder mode, could maintain level ground speed using "only" the 150-160 horsepower that 4 cylinders produce. Most cars can drive uphill rather easily on 150 horsepower, even pulling a small boat or trailer...

    The XM Shuffle - Redux

I had a similar experience to the first post with the XM rep. They wanted to charge me the full amount even though I had XM on a Lexus, and on a Garmin GPS, complete with weather package. They insisted for over 30 minutes that I didn't have a base subscription and despite repeated requests to...

    Remote Opener

I can program one garage door easily, it is the older unit, by following the instructions in the manual for rolling code. The newer opener can program the remote that came with it by using the "learn" button, but I can't get the Yukon XL buttons to work using the same procedure that I use with...
