    Exorcism for a 1999 GMC Yukon ? Help !

Welcome to the Tahoe forums! This is the first I've been back on here in a while, but everytime I asked questions on here I got pretty good answers. Hopefully you find this place as helpful and useful as I have. Anyway, on to your question... I'd start with the O2 sensors if you already know...

    New Engine or Rebuild?

Although nobody ever replied to this, I would like to know what you ended up doing with your truck. I have the same Tahoe and she still runs and drives OK, but she's at 218k miles and gradually breaking down on me. I'm in the process of researching my options as far as rebuilding the current...

NBS / OBS Front Seat Compatibility

Hey guys, My Tahoe has the 60/40 split bench seats up front. I'd really like to have bucket seats so I can make a custom center console to house a carputer that I've been planning on building. I've been searching around for a bucket seat (driver only or both front seats) and have only...

    lift question...

I've thought about a similar set of blocks/keys for mine as well. The main thing stopping me is that I've been told the keys in the front throw off the angle of the control arms, which would make it ride funny. A real lift kit would keep the stock angles so you could keep the smooth stock ride...

The new 2015 Tahoe/Yukons Spec and Pictures!

Not sure how I feel about these. They're not ugly, but I don't really like the style either. Maybe I'm just biased. I always preferred the OBS vs NBS, and especially the newer NBS. Regardless, if I were to pick either the new Yukon or Tahoe, I'd get the Tahoe. I like it's front end and gauge...

    Black Smoke Fixed

Hey guys! Just wanted to share my experience with you all. Maybe someone here has had, or will have, the same problem. The Problem: My Tahoe used to dump black smoke every time I opened her up on the highway. It only smoked when the RPMs got above 2,800, but when I say smoke, I mean SMOKE...

    What power steering?

I had a similar issue with that sensor. It's called the EVO (Electronic Variable Orfice) sensor. It controls how much power steering assist you get. I disconnected mine to see if that was the issue and now I get 100% full power assist at all times (even when I'm going 65 down the highway). I...

    The infamous fuel gauge shake

Hmm, that makes me wonder. I know a bit about electronics and a "jittery" signal would make me want to assume that it's a PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) signal. If that's the case, I'd try and throw a capacitor-resistor pair from the signal wire to ground. That would help smooth out the signal...

    The infamous fuel gauge shake

So, unfortunately I could not find just the motor. The only thing I could find was the entire gauge cluster, which is way overboard. I've never looked at the back side of my gauge cluster before, but does anyone know if the motors are easily visible? If so, then you may be able to search for a...

Thinking about getting new wheels (which ones)

Spys looks nice, but I like the Hoss best.

    The infamous fuel gauge shake

I'm not sure right off hand, but when I get to work I'll see if I can find a number for you. I work at CarQuest, but I might be able to find a number that you can cross-reference or something.

front and keeps shaking about 65mph

Wow, the Raybestos had more play? All the guys at work (I work at CarQuest) say Raybestos is the best when it comes to suspension and steering parts.

front and keeps shaking about 65mph

Damn lesterl, you're just full of tips and tricks, aren't you? I guess there's always an easier way to do everything.

    97 tahoe 4HI problems

It does sound like a differential issue, but he said it feels like the brakes are on, so that makes me think the problem is elsewhere. I wish I had some suggestions, but I'm still learning as I go, sorry.

front and keeps shaking about 65mph

I second that, although if you're like me and prefer to go the cheap DIY route, you can get really close to straight by eye and feel. I replaced my pitman arm, tie rods, and balljoints about a year ago. To get it close I jacked up the front and had the steering wheel centered. Then I visually...

    Torsion Bar Adjustments

That's probably a good idea. I don't see what it would hurt. Fortunately, I don't think mine backed out (at least not to a noticeable extent as yours did). A few months back I was down there replacing one of the mounts that hold the torsion bar cross-member to the main frame and both sides...

    Torsion Bar Adjustments

Good point, but I suppose it's mostly what height feels like it has the best handling. I have no idea if the front and rear should be equal or have a little bit of forward/rear lean. I'll check that as well tomorrow when I measure my Tahoe's stance. I guess I'll go from there. Hopefully it's...

    Torsion Bar Adjustments

I'm thinking the same thing as well. My driveway has a sideways slope to it, so my Tahoe always sits a little off to the passenger side. I'll have to park elsewhere and check how mine sits.

    lower ball joints

Like samotahoe said, if you jack it up, it should be fairly easy to see which joints are bad. How many miles does your hoe have? A little advice though, if you've got at least one bad balljoint, then you might as well change all of them.

Does anybody ever reply on these threads??

I don't answer a lot of questions people have, because I'm not a mechanic. I just try to fix whatever I break along the way, lol. Although, I do try to help when I know a little something.
