    Where's the Horsepower? Please Help

That is a tough one. Engines are engineered for emissions, efficiency, and in third place is power. The cyclinder deactivation does cause some vibration under light acceleration, but it immediately kicks out of that as soon as it really knows you want to get going. See if you notice a...

    Certified pre-owned LTZ sites

truecar.com is worth a look. They have a "clearbook" for used car pricing which I like.

    Need help/advice

That is a tiny segment. Just went on KBB and Autotrader to look for an 07 LTZ with 200k+. Nationwide, saw only 7! They were listed from $11,500 to $13,900. Went on KBB for my Chicago area and it says $11,800-12,400 for good to very good from a private party. For me, $14,000 is too much.

    Need help/advice

I have driven several and owned one of the 2007-2014 model years. The oil pressure light did come on in one of them. It was the sensor (and this is commonly the issue as the mechanical pump is simple and not as prone to failure). 200k might be the half life for the truck, but $14,000 is a...

    HELP Ac compressor replacement questions

I don't know about all, but even the fleet tahoes (ppv/ssv) did, which would lead me to believe that they are as common as the third row bolt holes.

engine oil consumption excessive 2007 5.3 flex

That is concerning, but appears as though many have some good insight here.

    K&N ???

The K+N might be a waste of money because modern engines meter the air that comes in and provide the appropriate amount of fuel. If you are using a recommended air filter versus the KN, you may notice little difference. The change is when you calibrate the car to accept the changes like a KN...

I would say that is a fair or better deal for you. It will last you a long time. Good luck!

    Install lower air deflector

I have popped a few of these back in place over the years, but didn't do anything special. I just snapped the tabs in one at a time and then the two screws on the end. The deflector you bought, is it an aftermarket one?? There's a chance maybe the bumper or air deflector (or both) are...

    07 Tahoe 2WD Question

It will work a bit like a 2wd pickup with the lighter weight on the rear, so if you have a 3rd row or extras in the back, that will help getting the weight to assist the rear wheels. Driving the 2wd tahoes, the issue in the snow was the electronic limiting!! You just couldn't let it rev...

    2008 PPV mods

I don't know where the best place is for a console, but the stock units should bolt in. Had a PPV and in order to cheaply change the wheel looks, used black center cap #46279 for an 88-99 suburban. (I believe it fits many other models too). I attached a picture, I think, let me know if...

Never thought I'd do this but...... HELP!!!!!!

I had the Volant Cold air intake and Corsa touring exhaust. Nice setup. I then had a tune done by Black Bear Performance (sponsor on here). The combination livened the 5.3 up nicely. I have no idea about lowering them. If it were me, for the OEM fit and functionality blessing, I would...

    95 Tahoe 5.7L runs rough

Without specifics, it is hard to tell, but some good maintenance (if it hasn't had any recently) will go a long ways. New fuel filter, cap/rotor, plugs, wires, air filter, oil/filter, and check the timing. You can do all of the above for around $100 bucks and would be a good starting point...

Tahoe programmers...who is using them and what were your results?

I have a 2011 Tahoe and used the Black Bear Performance tune from new. 3 years later the premium tune is still performing strong with no issues. (I also had them do a fuel economy tune, but I like the high octane performance tune so much, I never looked back.) It may not be cheap, but there...

    High Mileage Vehicle oil question

I have a 94' K1500 truck that I bought with 50k and have had for 17 years. I have been using the quaker state 5w30 high mileage (now Defy) for most of those years. It now has 221k on it, and although it has it's small leak areas, it leaves no drops in my driveway and the engine is still in...

    2010 Tahoe PPV

The airbag module is that plastic box sitting on the floor where the console goes. I am sure you know, but be careful not to damage that until you safely get it covered up.

    07 tahoe front end clunk

Might need a little more to help you, but if it is while you are turning, there are am set of steering knuckles between the steering wheel and rack/pinion. I have heard them clunking before when they go bad.

    2007 undercover ppv questions

I would not think that they have to disclose it as a police vehicle, although the VIN should show it to be if it actually is a PPV. It is possible maybe it was used in some sort of fleet operation other then police and has a fleet/commercial package to it. Anyways, throw the VIN in here and...

Just bought an 09 LS 4x4 - Couple Questions

The "black box" you see is the airbag sensor. Do NOT mess with it in any way. Keep things from hitting it and, as you mentioned, look for a console. It does appear to have some sort of fleet package to it with the rubber floors. Could be the Tahoe SSV (Special Service Vehicle).

Front shakes during acceleration - bad tie rod ends?

Bounce certainly could be the shocks. If this was the case and has been for awhile, tires should show signs of cupping. If you run your hands over the treads and feel uneven tread wear or it is not smooth and round, it certainly could be shocks. Keeping in mind you had the tires rotated and...
