    99 5.7 vortec P1351 Crank no start

    97 Yukon Temp Gauge Jumping

if you have a one wire thermostat disconnect the wire and just ground it out, if the gauge goes all the way up it is good. If it is a two wire one disconnect the connector and jump the two wires, the gauge should go all the way up. if it does the the sensor is bad. if not you have a wiring issue

    help with hard starting

well seeing that you just swapped the motor out and that the sensors are reading low I would agree with JKmotor. This is a wiring problem like whoever did the work installing it forgot a ground. I would check all the wiring under the hood.

    Considering Buying Tahoe/Yukon.... wise?

My first was a 87 surburan 3500 that I got at 210k out of a guys yard for $50. Rusted to all hell, but put a new battery it started right up. Patched the three fuel line leaks with rubber lines since they rusted out. Drove that truck till about 360k with no trouble but changed the starter...

    Considering Buying Tahoe/Yukon.... wise?

Mileage has little to do with these trucks. It is more for the abuse the truck has received. I have seen truck abused totally and fall apart at 50k and seen these truck properly taking care of and last well past 200k.
