    Rear brake drag

Just changed the pads and rotors on my 01 Tahoe. Rear pads where almost completely gone. After testing it on the road the rear brakes where dragging and smoking when I got back. So I replaced both calipers and both flexible hoses and I still have the dragging issue. What else could it be. The...

Questions about poor handling after leveling

I know it's a little late but I'll take a stab at it. If you are getting a lot of body roll or nose diving that woud lead me to believe your shocks need to be replaced. The springs will bounce like crazy with old wore out shocks, or perhaps you just need some stiffer shocks. It would be worth a...

Just purchased a 2000 tahoe a few questions.

don't know about the rest but if you have dexcool in it now(orange) stay with it. If there is any left in there , and there usually is, bad things can happen. If you don't already have one a haynes manual is good to have.

    transmission service

Yeah I figured some new fluid was better than none at all. Every shop I called (3) said they would not touch it, much less do a full trans flush. I did try a pick set and a seal puller. The pick set destroyed the gasket material and the puller was putting to much pressure on the valve body for...

    transmission service

I thought I would post this in case anyone was thinking of servicing their transmission. What a PITA My Tahoe has 150,000 miles on it. I had no idea what the previous owner had really kept up with. I wanted to change all fluids; after changing everything the only thing left was the...

    Jounce/Bump stops

Well I got the stops from the chevy dealer. 50 bucks for both.A litttle pricey for what they are. Installed them today, it actually feels a little more solid in the front end maybe it's in my head. It took all of 30 min to get them on. Helps having a lift at work I can use. Anyway I feel better...

    Jounce/Bump stops

Hey fellas, Where is a good place to get the front bump stops for a 01 4wd tahoe. I can't seem to find anyone who sells them anywhere. Mine are about worn out and I'd like to replace them. I may end up going to the dealer if I can't find them anywhere else. No luck at ebay, amazon, rock auto...

    Newbie from NY

Hi, I have a 2001 also, Just bought it. So far I love it. It's hard to believe that a 2001 is 14 years old. It seems to be holding up well though. My other vehicle is an 86 ford ranger. The tahoe rides like a dream compared to that. Here's to many more good years from the Tahoe's!:happy160:

    Coolant leak

So after tracing the coolant leakage to the water pump I decided it was time to replace it. After getting everything apart I found that it was the water pump seal behind the pump that was leaking. It was the factory pump with 148,000 on it so I say it did it's job. Chevy wanted almost 400...
