It may not be electrical. Have you tried a different fuel lately? 10% ethanol and certain gasolines cause mine to come on. So I use gas w/o ethanol which typically allows the engine to run w/o the "check engine" light coming on.
NE has them up- they say they're for monitoring traffic flow but soon I bet they'll put radar guns on them and start mailing folks speeding tix. They get us going/coming here, high property taxes, wheel tax, theres a tax for anything you can think of.
They can be somewhat tempermental parts. If replacing, I was told by a tire shop to make sure that you also purchase the proper set of mounting hardware(for tps). Check out http://gmpartsdirect.com/
I am experiencing the same issue on my Denali with 2 buttons. My guess is this is an electrical failure of some sort. I wonder which fuse(s) goes to steering wheel controls?
JP, your timing is great. I've been tinkering w/my horn (same symptoms) every other week- I'll get it working a few days then it stops. I will try your fix. Thanks.
Yeah, xm now sucks. I still have mine as I'm in NE and radio is not good. I had major issues w/connecting to xmonline while those clowns merged too-was down approx. 2mos. I raised major hell and they finally got my online access fixed (after 5 trouble tickets) and credited me 50% for the quarter.
I'm experiencing the same issue w/my Denali. Weird- it didn't happen until the weather started getting colder. The same thing happened w/my Saab, which was virtually brand new. The horn just eventually started working again after not detecting a faulty fuse. I'm gonna remove/reinstall the horn...
This is good info. as I'd like some for my '05 Denali. My initial thought was red then smoked- but figured they should match my 3rd brakelight as closely as possible. I've had my eye on the red K2s.
Thanks for the feedback and by the way, I read your thread on HIRs. Got my voltage tested and it was negative as you guessed. Gonna look at my HID options for now.
