    DRL Mod

I posted pictures and a schematic diagram for the mod on the TahoeYukon forum. It makes your 15 - 17 LS or LT operate the LED's for DRL's EXACTLY like a LTZ. I tried loading my high res pictures on this thread but they were too large.

    2's or 18's on LTZ

The 18", 20" , and 22" factory wheel/ tires all have the SAME outside diameter. The sidewall height makes the difference. The sidewall of the 20" tire is 1" less on each side to make up for the 2" rim difference. Likewise, the 22" tire is 2" less on each side to make up for the 4" wheel...

    2's or 18's on LTZ

When I received my 2015 LT with trailer option and 20" wheels the ride was like a dump truck. I changed the fronts to Escalade springs. Had to grind out the inside diameter of each spring end slightly to fit the large diameter optional trailer shocks (struts). I used Belltech 34324 rear...

    2016 Tahoe HID Headlight Conversion

You need to use a capacitor of 4700uf or greater to keep the relay from buzzing. The easiest thing to do is buy the code cancel capacitor that is available. You just plug one end into your truck's headlight wire and the other end into your HID relay harness. If you want to convert your DRL's...

    Morimoto hid install

If you turn on ignition with maf disconnected you will get an error code. As mentioned dic light will go out after driving a while if you did set the light. FYI engine wont start with maf disconnected.

    DRL Mod

I found a way to mimic the ltz lighting that use the led's for daytime running lights in conjunction with my hid converted headlights. Everything functions properly meaning parking lights only when turned on, only led's during daytime etc. Requires 3 relays and cutting and soldering. Message me...

Converting to HID Lights on Tahoe LT

I installed several of these kits for my friends as well as on my own Tahoe. On one of them, one of the crimped connections was loose and caused a flashing light problem like you mention. I replaced the wire between the relay and power source with a heavier 12 gauge and that took care of the...

Converting to HID Lights on Tahoe LT

Try connecting the vehicle plug into the new harness without the capacitor to see if it fits. Possibly they sent you the wrong capacitor. You might also check to see if the capacitor can plug into your H11 halogen bulb. Make sure you are using the low beam vehicle connector and not the high...

    Potential New Owner Questions

3.42 gear ratio Z71 and Max tow package include a 3.42 axle ratio. That allows for extra towing capability as well as better performance. You definitely want the 3.42 ratio to tow 7,000 pounds I ordered my LT with the Max tow package primarily for the 3.42 axle ratio and additionally for the...

Converting to HID Lights on Tahoe LT

Must not be are doing it right. Right side vehicle plug goes into capacitor. New harness plugs into other connector of capacitor. No connection to driver's side vehicle harness plug. Then other connectors from harness go to each ballast and wires from each ballast go to each bulb. Plugs and...

Magnetic Ride Control on '15 Tahoe LTZ

No Springs???? Not sure what you were trying to say by "There are no springs on the Max Trailer package, just air bags". The Max trailer option, in addition to the brake controller, 3.42 ratio, and auto level system adds stiffer front and rear springs to some vehicles. I crawled under several...

Magnetic Ride Control on '15 Tahoe LTZ

The 3.42 also functions as a performance ratio - needed for off road use. It makes a significant difference in acceleration, just like performance ratios in the older muscle cars and to me is mandatory for my vehicles. The springs included with the trailer package are significantly stiffer and...

    Floor liners for cocoa/dune interior

Weathertech Liners I bought the tan Weathertech liners and am pleased. They don't match either dune or coco but are about 1/2 way between the two so the color blends very well. I like the way the liners wrap up the sides. They also include pins to hold them in position although unneeded since...

    DRL Mod

Wiring Diagram Needed There is an easy mod using a relay to turn off the headlamp's DRL function but that doesn't accomplish your desire to have the LED strips to function as DRL's. I once saw a BCM (body control module) wiring diagram and intended to check it out when I had more time. I...

Magnetic Ride Control on '15 Tahoe LTZ

Escalade Ride I assumed the Escalade would have the best ride of all the GM SUV's. Yes, I did test drive an Escalade to help make my decision and felt it had a better ride than any Yukon or Tahoe I tested. You might consider test driving one yourself. If you use the #23312163 Escalade...

    Drop Hitch Heigth

Anything behind the rear axle will go down if you raise the front. Teeter Totter effect. Just don't expect much drop since the hitch ball is relatively close to the axle.

Converting to HID Lights on Tahoe LT

Sylvania Ultras I have used the Silverstars for years and still use them in several vehicles. I like the white light and use them for high beams on my Tahoe. Something that needs to be considered for low beam use is the very short bulb life and high cost of $50 or so a pair. Another...

Daytime Running Lights (DRL) on Various 2015 Models

Full Intensity? Yes they will be operating at full intensity, just like the LED strips on the LTZ. I think the reason halogens are dimmed for DRL purposes is to prolong bulb life. Since HID's last 2.5 times longer than halogens and LED's even longer, bulb life should not be a problem.

Daytime Running Lights (DRL) on Various 2015 Models

The DRL's operate slightly dimmer than headlights due to the PWM (pulse width modulation) signal sent to them. Yes, that does complicate changing to HID or LED's. A capacitor and relay harness overcome the problem. The capacitor smooths out the signal for a constant voltage to operate the relay...

    Drop Hitch Heigth

Well, what the heck - raise the front end 2" then to match the back end and it will put your trailer hitch a little closer to the ground!!!!
