    Noob question of the day.

Corn Subsidies. Government pays people to grown corn, artificially raising the price of corn, allowing the big farms to earn an artificially high profit from growing corn instead of something more useful. Note that it's the lawmakers from the corn-growing states (like Illinois) that support...

    Surging idle when cold.

Most auto parts store will pull that CEL code for free - that will help you narrow it down.

    Wrecked tahoe

Tahoe body parts are expensive. Ours got rear-ended and the rear hatch alone was something like $3000-4000.

    flexifuel?

When they label cars FlexFuel in the United States they are referring to E85 (85% ethanol 15% gasoline). I would not assume Flex Fuel means propane/LPG unless it specifically says so.

    Engine block heater

Might want to check on the amount of power the block heater draws - it can really hit your electricity bill if you leave it on all night. I heard a lot of people put a timer on their block heater, set it for very early in the morning...

Trans Filter Replacment. OEM or Aftermarket?

I try to get OEM when I have the choice. I only pursue aftermarket if it's clear that it's better or the same as OEM. Owner's manual should have the specs for your transmission fluid.

Need help with a Know it all

    tire pressure

Back when I had my 87 Cavalier the tire size was 185/70/13  Talk about a donut - and yes I often did end up with a tire with a max inflation rating of 35 psi printed on the sidewall. But yeah that's kind of a rare occurrence now.

    Wheel Alignment??

I think we need more information. When you say slipping out of control does this happen when you're accelerating? Braking? Turning? Going straight at a constant speed?

Noob needs normals on batt light, DVD power, oil level, headlights off

Make sure you're checking the oil with the vehicle parked on level ground. It's possible two dealerships made the same mistake. Or the second dealership cheated and didn't perform an oil change and just reset the Oil Life indicator...
