I lowered mine by 2 inches. The previous owner cranked up the bars from factory height, I just lowered to slightly lower than level with the rear.

I also had a similiar issue. I disconnected the battery cables and cleaned up the terminals real good. Also cleaned up all the ground cables in the engine bay and this hasn't happened since!! Also, there is a 175amp fuse block mounted to the fan shroud that was somewhat corroded, tore it apart...

check the steering too, as many here have reported SLOPPY steering, mine as well. Can't seem to get her fixed either!!

Guess I went the other route, but i'm running 305/45/20 on 10" wide rims on my 99 Denali, NO rubbing at all. The tires are about as close to the stock size as you can get too.
