IIRC, they were saying that you can bake out the Yukon housing, but the Tahoe one should be cut. Something about the glue needing a temp. high enough to melt the housing maybe, though I'm not sure why they would be so different. I know I'd rather bake than cut.

Yeah I'd be checking sensors. Doesn't sound like compression (would be constant) or valve covers. Check wiring and contacts from sensors/ sending units/ MAF/ anything you find; are good.

Sounds like it was not locked in properly to begin with. It won't fold right if it's not right on track. Same thing probably causing it to not unlatch right either.

I think there's a 4.8L, but only in an LS model. You'd never get one in an LTZ, that's for sure. And I think the LTZ engine option upgrade now is a 6.2L. Which I'd die to have it in my 4X4, but they won't do it yet.

If it has (it should) a 12v battery for the gas motor's primary ignition system, then I would think that you could jump in or out both the same as normal. Just don't mess with the big batteries.

So the button with 4 wheels on it is 4 High, I would think. And if it has 4 Low it's a 4WD, not AWD, I would think. You should post a pic of the switch to be sure. And GMTech48 is probably right, says it's common. And no they don't whine all the time, they tend to act up or pronounce under load.
