ya, screw the stealership. As vehicles have become better made and warranties have increased in length, they've had to come up with new ways to screw people out of money. The stuff you listed can be done by yourself, and if not, can be done just as well and alot cheaper thru a 3rd party repair...
i have a Hanyes manual which is pretty good as far as step by stp repair guides, if you can find a GM shop manual that the techs use thats even better.
Ebay's your best source for both.
The bumper and side moldings look tight, but the contrast of the cheap chrome with all that black looks weird to me. One of those blacked out tahoe grills would make it look perfect.
That's Austin for ya. Ppl drive like absolute sh1t around here, the parking spaces are cram packed in tiny lots, and nobody has any respect for other people's things. They see a nice clean truck like yours and either key it, spit on it, or hit it on accident and flee the scene. I got...
Ya, GT racers has never done me wrong. I got my halos, LED tails, and LED bumper lights from him w/o any problems. They were all Eagle Eyes products. I even had a defective bumper light on the first go around, he shipped me a replacement w/o any hassle. Matt's right, I think it depends on...
Lol, what do you expect? The guy is perfectly fine driving around w/o a spare tire in his Bimmer because BMW gives him free "road assist". Hope you dont ever get caught in the middle of nowhere with no cell service and a flat tire....cause its going to be a big problem.
Farewell sweet Carl...
My driver side window is squeaking when I roll it up sometimes and I'm not really sure how I feel about that. Actually I do know, it seriously concerns me about the longevity of my Yukon and it smells of inferior engineering. And I know....b/c I'm an engineer and I'm in the know. How am I...
I wouldnt have had to line up anything if I had just removed the actuator off the gear instead of pulling the whole thing out :mad2:
Oh well live and learn
Every vehicle fails sooner or later.
If you take care of your truck it'll take care of you. I passed probably 10 older tahoes on the way home from work....that's a good sign to me that they last. I wouldn't write the truck off just b/c your spare tire cable snapped. My uncle just bought...
Quality is awesome, 100x better than the factory leather that comes on the SLT's. A lot of dealers actually use Katskin for customers that want premium leather as opposed to the standard factory leather. Have you used their seat generator? Pretty cool...
I had a dealer in San Antonio install them, they're the Katzkin premium leather kit. I just did the 2 tone katzkin option and matched the 2 colors to match the inserts on the door. Ended up turning out pretty nice, here are some updated pics with a non-cell phone camera
Whole thing...
And yeah, the motor was definitely stripped in the old actuator. When I opened it up the gears were all chewed up in one spot in particular which caused the clicking noise while the gears were missing eachother. Whatever you get, make sure you get the actuator for the auto climate system if...
Rudolph- You'll need to line up the the teeth from the actuator comb and the vent door combs to where they have full range of motion after reinstalling the actuator motor. All the self calibrating in the world wont help if the teeth are lined up halfway down restricting full movement of the...
I did replace it actually, Wasn't too bad. I ended up winning an actuator on ebay, cost me about $95. Part number is 89018365.

There was only one on ebay, I searched by part...
