Been done for a while now. I finished up in August. I had to drill a hole in my floor in order to run the two runs of 1/0 wire inside the cabin of the truck.
Thanks for your help guys. I found out that my positive terminal on my aux battery wasn't tightened down enought. Once I did that my voltage jumped up to around 13.6v. Now I'm almost done with my stereo.
I can hear the isolator clicking on/off when i cycle the ignition. when I test the batteries with the truck off I get the same reading for both which is right aroudn 12.2v on both batteries. It's when I turn the truck on I get the starting battery at 13.3 to 14.4v while the yellowtop is still at...
Now for those of you here that are running the isolator, did you guys notice what the voltage was on the second battery? I'm asking because my yellowtop is staying at 12.40-12.43 volts. This is the same reading I get when I test from the alt to ground as well. However when I test my factory...
ThunderGod,
It came with part 1 of the three part factory battery tray that they have for the Tahoe/Suburbans. What I did was went to advanced autoparts and brought a univeral tray and modified it so that it would hold down my yellowtop. So far so good. I've had the battery in the truck for...
Question for the rest of you guys, according to a wiring diagram I found over at www.the12volt.com it says that the ignition wire for tahoes is pink. Is this true? Cause I've been looking and the only wires I see are red and red/black. I looked near the gray plug that connects to the fuse box...
2008Yukon, have you installed your PAC200 yet? I'm still having troubles trying to find an ignition source under the hood.:ktoe: I've finally got my tray setup and the power wires to hook it up. All I need now is another circuit breaker and to find that damn ignition source that I can tap.
I've read on some other forum that the inignition wire was pink and located near the fuse box, I can't find that wire. I see a lot of red, and red/black wires but nothing pink. Besides trying to find this inignition wire my other problem is the tray to hold the battery in place. I tried one of...
So to recap....I have 2007 Chevy Suburban LT and the reason why I disconnected the battery was to install my Pioneer Head Unit.
73Shark,
This doesn't make sense to me because before I messed with the battery the truck stayed at 14v whenever it was running. The voltage indicator never went...
I would like to know what's going on thought. Because I plan on going with a bigger alternator here in like a months time and I don't want to spend the money on the Alt if it won't charge the truck properly after I disconnect the battery.
Yeah, this has been going on for about two days now. Before I messed witht he battery when I drove the truck it would stay at 14v throughout the entire drive time. My commiute to and from work is about 30 minutes each way. Now when I drive it goes from 12 to 14v within the first 2 to 5 minutes...
I recently disconnected my postive cable off my battery to install a radio in my 07 Suburban. After reconnecting the battery my voltage readings stay at around 12.8 to 13.0 volts even when the truck in on and running. Why is this happening? Before the radio install my voltage was at a constant...
I just got it in the mail today and I want to intall in my 07 Suburban. Anyone here who has this install on they're tahoe/suburban, where did you mout these unit at? Did you mout it on the firewall, or did you mout it near the fuse box? Is there an easy accessory wire available under the hood...
If I didn't need 1/0 ga I wouldn't have mentioned it:smilielol: I'm not gonna go with OEM parts for this. 4 ga wire from the alt to the isolator to the yellowtop and then 1/0ga from the yellowtop to the back. I really would like to not have to drill any holes in my truck if at all possible, that...
Anyone know where I can find instructions on how to remove the front and rear door panels off of the 07 Suburban/Tahoe? I have a Kicker ZX650.4 amp thats gonna power a pair diamond D3 6.5 component speakers and another set of undetermined coaxials for the rear doors. I'm hoping to start this...
I'm about to do this for my 07 suburban so any information you guys could give me on doing this would be greatly appreciated. I'm going with a yellow top for my aux battery for now and a isolator. Something else I want to do is run two runs of 1/0 ga wire to the back of the truck from the...
I have a question regarding this. I have a 07 Suburban that I want to install a second battery in for my stereo. Where can I get an 200A battery isolator at that will work with my truck? I'm leaving the factory battery in and installing a Optima Yellowtop 800CCA battery.
Thanks to those that...
How much was the alternator from Ohio Generators and what was it rating max/idle? Also do you have pictures of it installed in your 08 by any chance? Pictures would help me out alot.
