Well, I had a tune-up done a few weeks ago....the thing is...I'm not sure whether the guy flushed the tranny or just replaced the fluid....I've been reading that flushing it tends to break your tranny......also, I am not so sure he changed the filter, could just hopefully be that....I'm going to...

I also heard that if you change the fluid, you sometimes tend to cause problems to your tranny? Or is "flushing the transmission fluid" different than changing it? What is a U Joint? Also, if my truck is a 5.3, how come the speedometer only goes to 100 mph? wouldn't it go up to 120 mph?

yeah i thought it was a 4.8 as well, but when i took it in for a tune-up, they ran the vin and it came up as 5.3.....weird how the carfax had it listed as 4.8.....could they have done something to the truck?

No not ALL the time, seems to me once it's pretty warmed up it seems to stop...

hoping they didn't..... IF they did, would they be able to fix it? And if they didn't, could another shop tell if they did just to make sure they weren't denying anything?

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah, this problem appears at times...but yet I feel I should address it before it gets any worse.... Would there be any advantage to do it this way as opposed to wait for something to break down?

Unghhh.....I didn't expect or still hope not to, have this issue come up so soon... I have a 2001 Tahoe LT 5.3 with about 102,000 miles on it... Just had the tranny fluid changed, along with the filter and the egr valve and water pump, and also had a new a/c belt put in.... Just started...

Tell me about it.... One, what goes around, comes around.... Two, I thank God everyday they did not do any sort of damage to the truck itself, they just took my audio and that's it... Three, I thank God even more that nothing happened to me.... You just have to learn from these experiences...

Where can I find chrome door handles for my 2001 Chevy Tahoe LT? I don't want the ones where the whole door handle and surroundings are chromed, I want the one where only the handle itself is chromed, like the Cadillac Escalade one.....

This is definitely being done on my Tahoe.... I already have a laptop so dishing out $600 and getting $400 of them back later is well worth it for the benefits it brings.... But yeah, I am going to first upgrade the exhaust and intake so I can get a better result.... Thanks a lot for this...
