JK, look into www.certifit.com
IIRC, the HD hood there was like 190.
Thing is though you need a body shop or a business, I believe, for them to ship out.
Just me, but I would not own a vehicle with frame damage from an accident.
Now I could be wrong but I tend to think that unibody car as well as body on frame vehicles, can have frame distortion. I mean I think it would be highly possible due to a lot of potholes and misc road imperfections...
I have the clear smoked corner lenses. I too bought them from ebay. When it rains, there is a hint of condensation in them. Taking a 20minute trip though, they have cleared up.
Nice fit and finsh. I believe also you can find them cheaper than 28 too.
Matt, as I read your post, it seems to me that you are a bit offended by some of the posts in this topic. I understand your sense of conviction, as I have been there and done that.
I do not want you to think I am trying to further offend you, as that is not my game.
We all here are...
IMHO, it is very hard to get the perfect looking cowl hood for these trucks. I really like the ease of installation with a HD hood. I think that if you went with a HD hood and left the rest of the front end alone, you would have a unique sense of style. .02
You might want to PM JennaBear or BlackBear tunes and see if there is a mod they have that can turn the autoride and subsequent lights off.
Doing so will allow you to go the way of replacing with non air ride shocks.
I'd look at it as a blessing that the front shocks were replaced. The drive belts, IMHO, should be changed out every couple years or so.
If you are indeed serious about this truck, let the dealer know, as a stipulation of your pending purchase, you'd like to have the truck professionally...
Either way, scrape of as much debris as you can. Powerwash the frame as best you can to remove debris and grease. I would use POR15 as somewhat a base. Then I would paint with rustoleum paint.
I mean, if youre not going to show the truck, why go all excessive?
Be leary of CarFax. That goes for anybody looking into a CarFax report.http://www.cbc.ca/marketplace/2009/vehicle_history_reports/main.html In the past i have been to dealerships and I always look at the paint. On a lot of the vehicles I looked at, I noticed there were inperfections in the...
Matt, you have it wrong. In those, what I call severe cases, those notices and upselling is indeed a good if not a great call.
The difference here is the upselling of preventative maintenance (sp). See I worked for a dealership. A Nissan one at that. The service manager harped on and on...
Man, don't pay extra for the services. Just tell the stealership no thank you. The seafoam as is similar to that which the stealer will do, you can do yourself, for way less money.
The brake fluid, I would also do that myself. Be forewanred, I worked for a Nissan stealer who upsold this...
