it is a direct fit...runs about $70 and will require painting. I've been told the existing one is difficult to remove without breaking the threaded posts, but that it's easy to install a new one. I am planning to do this within the month or so.
Looking at replacing the applique on my 07 tahoe and installing the cleaner looking Yukon version. Does anyone know if this is a direct fit? I'm assuming it is, but I want to be sure before I order one and have it painted.
Part #1 referenced below is what I'm referring to.

My thoughts exactly... IMO prior to the merger, Sirius was much better than XM, but since the merger, they both turned to crap. There was a reason Sirius was taking over the past 2yrs... and it all seems for nothing now.
I'm sure that would be my luck...After a few hours sitting in the garage at home the mositure was pretty much gone. i will keep an eye on it and try to swing by the dealer at its worst point.
I agree that the channels now on XM are not so great and I don't quite understand why this is. I currently have both XM in the Tahoe and Sirius in our other vehicle and at home and I have always much prefered Sirius over XM, but the channels they selected to remove and then add do not make any...
Is this common or is there a TSB out for it?
I noticed today after having two days of snow and wet weather that both have my headlight housings have moisture on the inside. They both show it in the inner lower corner(about a 5"x5" rea) of each headlight. I find this ridiculous for this type...
You are welcome to try it and if it doesn't work, I'll give you a full refund. My Tahoe was 10/06, but I'm using an 08 nav unit. I'm not sure if it's due to my nav unit being an 08 or my truck having a build date of 11/06. Coastal Tech told me that GM changed some of the software after 10/06...
Looks good... I was in the same positoin as you and decided to buy a used 07 LTZ rather than a new 08. Remember even though you only have approx 10k left on the bumper-to-bumper, the Powertrain is good for 100k, which is what I am most concerned about. I paid $26,500 for a Loaded...
I currently have the oem nav unit with the 5th Gen Lockpick and I'm looking for the best option for a backup camera. I'm going to use the input and power supply from the lockpick , so I only need a camera.
If interested I have the 1st version Lockpick available for $75 shipped. I don't believe it will work for the 08 models. It will work with all trucks built before 10/06(which is most '07 models). This version will override the DVD (in motion) option and also allow you to use the Nav Input...
I know there's more involved when adding a nav unit to a non bose truck, but I think everything else remains the same. I have an LTZ with every option but Nav, so mine was very easy. There's step by step instructions somewhere, either on here or chevroletforum.com that explains what's needed...
That is why you currently have two connectors. The Onstar connection uses the existing black plug, but the VSS plug is the brown one and will be the 3rd plug used with the Nav unit.
The Nav unit will have four plug-ins and all will be used if you have rear DVD system. If you do not have...
How easy was it to run the wiring for the camera? I am considering buying the same rear camera kit. I have the OEM Nav with the GEN 5 Lockpick... It looks to be basically 'plug and play' other than running the wires to the rear.
what do you suggest? This was not your off the shelf auto spray paint. It's the same paint a bodyshop would use. I've seen many accessories painted with GM Paint spray and other brands and they have been a near perfect match. I may try a can directly from my dealer or my local paint supply...
I recently purchased a can of Touch up Spray (Graystone Metallic) from automotivetouchup.com and am not too happy with the color match. I painted the bow tie and hitch cover and the color is off by a few shades. I know it's difficult to match a metallic paint, but I didn't expect it to be off...
