OK thanks 1SEP, I take that as a "yes"..the heated seat switches above the window switch has night indication.
Time to rip it apart and replace them bulbs.
Thanks again
Repairing all my burnt out bulbs (lots of soldering). :ack:
I'm not sure!...My heated seats work and I get the indication for high/low both when activated, however do these switches light up at night so you can see them? (like the window switches do).
PS I've taken things apart for no...
Squeaks are better then thumps LOL. I'm not 100% sure but I noticed on my 01 Yukon that there were two hidden fittings (perhaps the idler arm ball joints)...that you can't get at or see very well without taking the plastic mud shield off first. Then to grease them you have to turn the steering...
Good day guy/gals!
I read some threads and noticed some very nice work on clusters ect. I had quite a few bulbs burnt out on my 2001 yukon (more then likely never changed before). After reading up on how to correct the dash, radio and HVAC bulbs .....I didn't have a problem..(looks good)...
Dofd, you have a darn good point there..and I think you are right about him having a "passkey" for his year of vehicle...I don't know why I didn't think of his year.:confused2:.. (more then likely the reasons...mines a 01):rolleyes2:
Although close very close to the passlock relearn, it could...
Your welcome!...a couple of months setting shouldn't hurt. If your in a cold damp area put a small electrical heater inside on low heat turning it on every few of days. Your engine will be fine, but like the thread before said...add a tad of fuel stablizer so the gas won't vanish on ya! And...
I don't think that you will get any kind of warranty.
Agian, as you stated you did some work...as well had a spark. Thats a bad thing with any kind of on-board computors. The security light flashing at the start and was informing you of security problem...and wouldn't start. Now when you try...
Figured out!!
OK, I guess getting a rebuilt EBCM wasn't thee best idea. There was a short within (this rebuilt unit) stoping the communication in the security system.
Alot of GM Referances don't mention the EBCM being part of the "Passlock" communication system...Yes if it's pulled...
I meant have a watch so you could time it! (the re-learn cycles)
If your power was off the vehicle/battery disconnected...your radio has to be re-learned as well. It states how to do it in your sevice manual. (you need to know your 4 digit number)
NOT 100% sure because you had nothing...
Doors and windows are a separate matter that work from the key remote and nothing to do with the passlock.
Everything I've read states 10 min..thats the time it should take when your security light stops flashing.
When you try and start your vehicle...and it dies...leave the key to on...
Thanks for your reply....Oh yah a few times. Shop also tried 3 cycles a few times. That's why I'm confused about my key. Passlock and Passkey have a different re-learn sequence to restart. I still think the attachment of the shown key I have is a typo mistake and is not a passkey lll, but...
Unless you have another problem!
GM:
10 Minute Learn Procedure
Tools Required:
None
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale...
One of those weeks :mad2:
I took my 2001 Yukon in for a rebuilt EBCM due to an ABS problem. The work was completed however the shop can't seem to re-start the vehicle. Yes..it thinks it has been stolen. It's quite understandable to me that due to the battery being disconnected for a length of...
Sure sounds like the same thing (Dull clunk) from what your saying; mostly heard from the upper left steering area. If not that, you could have a ball jount problem.
(Try the quick fix first to see if the clunk go's away)
UPDATE "Fixed"
Well, I ended up chasing down my "own" fault!
After going over all my ABS grounds/connections today and still having no luck with the intermittant ABS/Brake indications, I decieded to re-investigated my "new" wheel sensors/wires. I felt around and had noticed that my...
Good Point Virgina Donkey, Mines a 01 Yukon.
Something I will investigate on the web. They say that when the ABS system is working correctly and the indication light is on, there will be no ABS activation...therefore, the next time it comes on I could see if I can get the ABS to...
