You're not crazy, but you're not correct, either. lol
You've got to drop the rear @ 2" to level the truck. I've been through it all, and recently LIFTED the front of the truck 1" with the ReadyLift adjustable kit. I think the truck looks great now, and no more screwing with the autoride links.
I've got the same noise. '09 Tahoe here. Went for a ride with a confrontational tech who said he couldn't hear anything. So, that was a complete waste of time. But, obviously there's an issue, as you all have corroborated.
You have to remove the rear end caps -- and that can be tricky.
It's really easy to remove the entire rack. I'd just remove the rack (you can take it off in one piece -- cross bars and all), and then access the tabs under the rear caps much more easily. Slide the bars off, then remount the...
I'm missing something. You talk about pulling the stripping away "at each door." Is this DOOR weather stripping making the noise, or WINDSHIELD stripping?
(Maybe I'll have to look at my truck first before understanding what you're talking about...)
Thanks for the info.
It's not easy! I watched my buddy who's a body man wrestle with removing mine. It fought him the whole way. Basically, there are tabs with lips that snap into place in a few areas. There are some post-like tabs, too -- and chances are you're going to break at least one of those during the...
If you look, that piece wraps down and around the front, tucking in behind lots of other dash pieces. I'm thinking that you'll have a lot of things to remove prior to being able to remove that piece. Looks involved. No doubt someone has done it, though, so it'll be interesting to see exactly...
Meant to say that I knew exactly what cup holder arrangement you were looking for -- it's just that the gmparts site lets you know you're in the right ballpark, but sometimes the illustrations leave something to be desired. They're all single-line drawings, and in black and white, and sometime...
It's a GREAT resource, though sometimes it's tough to be sure exactly what you're looking at.
I found this PN by looking up your model and year vehicle, then clicking on "console," and then "front cup holder" (I think), and then checking out the exploded view of it. I assumed that the one...
Are you aware of gmpartsdirect.com?
Looks like:
*15134793
HOLDER
$56.32
That's considered the "front cup holder without Denali" option, which should be what you're looking for. Take that part number to your local dealership and verify that that's the one you want.
It DOES have a sensor. If it senses that something's getting in the way of it opening/closing, it'll reverse it's direction. That being said, I think the thing can get out of whack. I've had mine do the same thing. Seems a bit random.
Overall look is really nice. Congrats.
My only gripes:
1. Is the chrome strip (above the factory painted body side moldings) factory or aftermarket? It looks thicker (or something) than the factory '09 strips, and looks a bit "tacked on," or maybe doesn't have the same shape as the...
I've found this stuff to NOT work. Once your plastic pieces are wrecked by Armor-All or other similar products, this stuff won't help.
If you pieces are in good shape, use Pledge.
Because it turns plastics to a milky gray/white color.
Look at any Jeep Wrangler on the road with faded fender flares. I'll bet you anything that they used Armor-All on them.
AA is terrible, terrible stuff.
Want to know what really works?
Lemon Pledge. (Yes, the wood polish.)
It's the only thing I've found to work. It's the only thing that has touched the black plastic racks, window trim, and tube steps on my '02. It's also the only thing that has touched my '97 Wrangler's flares. All of...
