The module should be located in the dead air space between the plastic and the exterior body of the vehicle. Mine is in the area right behind where you will find the tire iron and jack.
It should works just fine. The antenna is just stuck on the glass using double sided tape so you shouldn't have to cut any tint. The only thing I can think of is if the tint you used is metallic which could potentially reduce the distance of the signal......other than that, it should be fine...
The mounting location shouldn't make any difference. Have you tried checking to see if the antenna wire is fully attached to both the module and the actual antenna?
Actually, it's the same. The technician just tucked the left side of the antenna behind the trim of the window. He wanted to make it as least noticeable as possible. It actually fits really nicely and makes it seem half the size.
Well its finally installed and after the first 2 days of us, I LOVE this thing! The distance is drastically improved! Even with my old remotes. The dealer installed it in exactly 1.5 hours and he reprogrammed the 2 old remotes so now I have backups if needed. $230 total installed! I've...
So I finally found a dealer in my area that knows what I'm talking about in regards to the 2-way advanced remotes. I went there and they ordered the part based on my VIN number........they told me this was critical in ordering the correct part since they messed up on some previous installs...
Oh okay.....that makes sense. Now if I can only find a dealer in my area that knows what the heck I'm talking about when I ask about doing the upgrade.
I called two dealerships last week and they didn't know a thing about any 2-way remotes......told me I should go to a stereo shop. :ktoe:
Or does anyone have a solution for protecting the door panels?
I have to drive through gravel roads every now and then and want to protect my doors from getting all dinged up since I don't have splash guards behind the front tires.
Also, it gets annoying having to clean the doors...
I have an '08 LTZ with automatic running boards. I have rear mud flaps but none on the front due to the running boards. Has anyone successfully installed flaps that don't get in the way of the running boards?
Thanks in advance
Yeah, you might want to check it. My right side worked just fine but the left has a fast flash. I put the OEM lights back in and the fast flash went away.
