I had the same issue. I ended up replacing front and rear with EBC slotted and drilled rotors. I t was a night and day difference. But i would do just slotted next time I hear they are a bit better.. Hope this helped.

That is a funny dilemma, cause i am in that very same boat.. I have an 04 Z71 4wd with 83k and I am debating on trading up to the newer body style. but like you the prices are crazy.

an 02 with that many miles and only 2wd . that's way to much buddy..

where are you located? I am thinking of selling my 04 Tahoe Z71 with 83K 5.3L for less than that one..

I had an ebay brand called Cycolite white bulb 4114 it is bright, I switched to LED's and I put them as reverse lights real nice.

I get 16.6 on a steady ride up north and 17.5 on the way home. 5.3L with 20's and a BB tune.

when its raining does it leak when it's just sitting? try to spray water up from under the truck maybe it is getting in there..

that is a whole unit, it pops out. you don't have to take the panel off.

I had 285's on my stock 17" z71 wheels looks good..

don't forget to put clear silicone on the threads when you put them back in..

has the tranny been rebuilt or replaced in the past do you know? trans flush and fill are good cause it gets the fluid in the torque converter as well. but if its a mechanical issue that may not change anything.. I would try the tranny flush to start expect around $100 to $150 for this.. hope...

I have the 2/3 drop and my shocks are nitro drop shocks.they are not to bad. A bigger sway bar will help with handling..

This is what I found over there "The two center supports just slide in over the side rails. No bolts - when removing or putting on, want to move them together if you can so they don't bind up. Also may need a little friendly persuasion to make them move. I used a block of wood wrapped in cloth...

i'm running the Dick cepek FC-II 285/70/17 great tire lots of meat. they do hum though but they are a nice ride.
