We presently have a leased 04 Mercedes E500 and an 02 Audi allroad which we own outright. I'm considering getting rid of the MB and moving into a Tahoe LTZ. The Tahoe would be for my wife and I would take over the Audi as my daily driver.
Here is my issue: With my MB lease ending not until June 08, I have negative equity of approx. $10,000. I was planning on plowing half of that into the Tahoe and paying the rest up front. I figure I would get that half back in the form of a lower monthly payment by next year, thus costing me about $5000 to get out of the Benz. Part of my says suck it up until June 08 and keep the 5G's. The other part of me says we need the utility and size of the Tahoe now and just do it and drive the wheels off the Audi to justify the 5G expense.
What would you guys (or gals) do?
