I have a 98 Yukon and it seems to have started something new. When you are driving around 30-45mph and sometimes when you break the steering wheels just does a hard shake like the truck is having a seizure. It sometimes feels like the wheels are going to come off of the truck. Has anyone had any of these problems and what can I do to fix it? I need help A.S.A.P.

Sound like he meant to spell "brake".
If that's the case, it is warped rotors.

Refrain from driving

If you are familiar with basic brake and rotor inspection, take the front wheels off one at a time. The rotor's surface where the brakes ride should be uniformly shiny (if not, then possible warp) and have no discolorization such as a blueish hue or tint (that is usually overheat). There may be some visible lines, but there should be no grooves or gouges. Next, if you look at the metal bracket that the brake pads are rivited to, you should be able to stack three pennies between the rotor surface and that bracket to check the pads width, if it is less then pads may need changed.

Good luck,

sounds like warpped rotors, if it gets significantly worse while braking.

Thanks guys for all your information. I thought about the ball joints, tie rod ends, and etc. I found a kit on ebay including most of these items. I figure it can't hurt to put them on there since I never did any work on the front end except for brakes and the truck is 10yrs old. Will let you know what happens.

BAD VIBRATION possible solution

Hey I have a 1999 Tahoe LIMITED EDITION and I had a similar prob when braking then it went to all the time. I changed the rotors and brakes and it was good from there. Also the wheel Barings may need to be regreased they could be dry. Hope this helps
