I have a new 2017 Tahoe Premier. The third row seats fold down but not flat. They are up just enough to make all our groceries slide to the lift gate and then fallout as soon as it's opened.

Anyone with that kind of problem or even a solution?

Thanks.

3rd row

Ensure that the headrests are not hitting the 2nd row seat backs.
This is what happened to me.

Good luck,
Pat

Possible solution

I faced same problem with my 2015 Tahoe. I removed the third seat. Just a handful of bolts to remove and I bought a WeatherTech pan that fits perfectly.
Seats are sitting in my garage awaiting some future trade-in.

I bought 3 large plastic containers at Home Depot for my 16 Hoe..I use that for my groceries when I can't use the second row floor or the aisle between the captain chairs.

Just bought a ‘19 Z71 and plan on removing 3rd row when my cargo liner arrives. Will post some pics of process.

Personal this back seat pissed me off,
they lied. They took cargo space, for this junky 3 seat.

once you remove the 7 bolts, and remove the seat you will find the carpet and padding have holes all over the place. i had to cut a 4x4 sheet plywood to fit to make a solid base to transport cargo. then throw in a cargo liner. terrible for a 70k premiere vehicle.
next worst thing crappy headlights.

2019 Tahoe 3rd row seat removal

Seat removal update.....

Removal was fairly easy. Would have been nice to have any extra set of hands to help put up on the shelf 7 ft high in my garage.

Purchased the Husky version instead of Weathertech. I was pretty impressed with how close this is to being an exact fit. I've read previous comments and reviews that the was either too short or too long. Thought I'd try for myself. In my opinion, the cargo liner is about 2-3 inches too long....but WAIT. This is a GOOD thing! Look at my pics and you'll see how much overhangs the factory rear hatch sill. If you carefully pry the sill up you can trim about 1.5" off the liner and tuck it under the sill. I also trimmed slightly on the corners closest to the left and right edges. I plan on keeping this in permanently as I'll be hauling golf bags, beer, and groceries way more than I'll be using the 3rd row seat.

Can't tell you how pleased I am with the final results. I wanted the LS Custom Edition, but you can't get leather/heated seats. Love the Z71 but don't want the 3rd row and extra price tag. Bit the bullet, got the Z71, removed seats. Done.

Fonkeyfresh: You've inspired me. Seriously considering this move as well. I wasn't even really sure this was even possible. It looks really good.

Consider no longer...rip 'em out. I took mine out the next weekend after I bought it. No brainer to me. Just me and the wife, kids in college. Don't need or even want the 3rd row. Gotta sweet ride for golf trip with my buddies now with plenty of room.

7 bolts, 3 plastic molding covers and they come out surprisingly easy. Mine were not the power folding version, so for those of you who do, you may have some wires to disconnect.

I didn't even bother with trying to cover up where the deck padding is surrounding the seat bolt areas. I guess you could, but I put the Husky liner directly over everything.

Good luck guys! Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to answer or take more pics!

Tahoe2017: Did you have the power 3rd row seats? If so, any additional considerations for the removal? BTW: nice touch with the wood. Looks sharp.

yes I did have power seats, reach under drivers side front of seat to unplug.
no other changes required.
more info:
in another forum someone lost their antenna signal after doing this,
they had accidentally unplugged the antenna, so be mindful of any extra connectors in the floor board area.

So, one more question.....Did Chevy service ever indicate that this would/has voided the warranty on the vehicle?
