That looks crazy. What are the spec's on the additional alt? What is involved in the install? What are the pros/cons? Post any more pics you have? Please and thank you.
alot of it is just making a bracket then what most people do is get 2 high output alts like i have 2 (mean green 350 amp) thats a total of 700 amps of power to keep my batts at a steady 14.7V under really heavy useage. but there is a guy named steve meade running 4 alts in his tahoe.

this set up was not hard to do at least in 94& 95 i could`nt see spending
$ 300/400.00 on a high out put at the time. i had a fairly new alt just
sitting in my shed so i started looking under my hood for a spot for the sec
alt.
i did the same set up in a 1977 cougar back in the day so i knew it could be
done. well back to it !!! i had some angle iron and started retro fitting them
so that the alt will line up with every thing else washers,nuts and it took a
hole saturday to get it done.
the wiring i went to the junk yard to get a alt wiring connectors then put a seloniod on the acc fuse to actavate the charging system if you don`t the alt
rectifier will drain the batt while sitting.
i got a 1 size bigger belt to go around every thing also i made the battery
brackets for the batt tray driver side thats why i had to move the canister
so after that i started it up checked the voltages every thing fine UNTIL
i turned on the a/c the alt was vibrating terrible not enough support for it
back to solving this . i went to a metal shop and got a slab of iron it cost
me $35.00 it is to thick to cut with a grinder so i went to a muffler shop
and he use the cutting torch to cut the shape i needed.
went home cleaned it up drilled holes in it to bolt it to the factory alt
bracket and put every thing back started it up and a/c problem solved.
the pros i have 2 separate charging systems under the hood .the cons
i don`t know of any.
two months ago the system alt went out so i had to take every thing off
and cut the bracket for the bigger case alt it's a 125 amp instead of the 100 amp small case alt.
if i get one of those HOP alt it will bolt right on.My system has 2 batt to play from . then the engine has it's own batt to use
the dude has like an unlimited amount of money, or people are just giving him all this stuff its MAD. he has 2 ROCKFORD FOSGATE T15KW's($25,000 each) in an escalade with 8 Fi BTL's (like 3 grand each) and a **** ton more into this thing.
i cant understand that. i mean, i totally understand the purpose behind two alternators, but i think it'd almost be easier to run a capacitor and have an extra yellow top optima connected with the other battery. but, you gotta do what you gotta do for that bass
