What is the easiest way to add horsepower????:iq: ..Without the engine or tranny swap.
the easiest would be a prorammer. The best option would a cam but you asked for the easiest.
like gonzo said, easiest way is programmer, but doesn't do as much without an intake & exhaust.
I voted program.
Easiest is the programmer or custom pcm tune. You'll get more bang for the buck with a cam swap, but it involves a little more.
We talking the L31 vortec motors in the obs tahoes or a general question? I'd vote custom pcm tune if it were on the list, otherwise the cam is a good idea but you'll need some more mods to take full advantage of the new power. The L31 is a slippery slope, the more you want the more you need to save to do all the mods at once which is why I bought the denali.
 a slippery slope? lay off the snow:druge: for a minute were talking about Tahoes here. Not denalis or yukons, were talkin tahoe...Not denalis or yukons..were talking tahoes.
now then. what do you mean you gotta save more and do them all at once? man you can do it piece by piece if you want. stick to the denali forum bra:cowb:
Play nice guys.
I think what Boost is getting at is that you can do it piece by piece, but you won't realize the full potential of a single part unless it works in harmony with others. For ex; a high lift cam won't make a big improvement if the intake system (manifold, tb, air filter, etc) doesn't have the ability to allow the cam to ingest the volume of air it is capable of. A high rpm cam profile will almost always need a higher stall converter. Opening the exhaust will help an aftermarket intake even more. Any intake and exhuast mod can benefit more if parameters in the pcm are changed to take advantage of the increased airflow. Sometimes it's better to add a couple parts at the same time rather than one by one.
No need to act like a douchebag, I didn't quite understand wtf you were talking about and I'm an ass hole so you were addressed accordingly. No need to try being tough over the internet, I was simply trying to answer your question. Check out http://www.pacificp.com/forum/index.php for info regarding the older body style tahoe modifications. I used to own a 00 tahoe limited and I try to help others with knowledge on the subject, thus the reasoning behind these forums. We're all here because we love these trucks but if you act like a fu*kstick I'm gonna treat you like one
hey kid, relax. we both no you wouldnt even make it 30 seconds with me.
Now then, if you scroll back up you will see that you kicked it off. You couldnt handle the allen iverson joke so deal with it . Truthfully if you use to own a tahoe great, I actually own one now. So im not living in the past. But your knowledge (if you want to call it that) is helpful to some im sure. Just make sure you word you posts correctly so people dont call you out:cuss: . Simple enough. As far as I go I think its settled, but if you wanna act like a knobgobbler thats on you. wned:
Have decided what you are going to do? (programmer, intake, etc.)
:umn: Yep think I have...Bought a Hypertech Maxx Energy Programmer last week from ebay ack: dam $330). Yesterday I bought the K&N CAI, right before I dropped off the truck for dual flowmaster 40 series with the chevy tips. I no, its alot to drop at once, but its adding bigg value to my truck. :shhh:
Spring Mods....New paint job. Bigger springs and shocks. 10.4 flipdown swivel tv. Pacesetter Headers. :yesnod:
you won't notice the gains as much if you add components one by one as you can afford, but damn will you if you ever take them all off at once!! talk about a slug...
I like every thing except the chevy tips. I'm imageing the bowtie xhaust whick looks tacky IMO. I hope I'm wrong I posted a link of the ones I think you are talking about.
i have been looking at chevy tips, but the bowtie is ingraved on the top. i think thats what he meant.
Those I like. I 've seen one too many wanna be SS silverado/tahoe with the bowtie exhuast, very "pep boys"(insert your local auto parts store) aisle 7 accessories.
Pep Boys must be generic. Exact same location at my local Pep Boys. :yesnod: :wow:
:gun: Na those arent what I got. But your entitled to your opinion about what you like. Me and my tahoe, we go are own way.:fkr: The duals came out just perfect. They look great underneath and sturdy as hell. The sound is remarkable. 2 40 series with the tips...This beast just growls at you while parked....imagine when I rev it up..be cool
