Flowmaster/K&N Intake install

Quick question on installing the K&N air filter and a Flowmaster 40 series. I do not have the truck yet (Its 1700 miles away) so I do not know what setup the muffler is for intake to the exit. Is it opposites? Any help/info on installing these would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Just the flowmaster muffler and yes a K&N cold air intake

I am not looking for part numbers I am just asking if anyone has any tips on installation and also the orientation of the muffler. Sorry if the post was missleading
