Morning everyone, so a few days ago the car fairy stopped by my house and turned my '88 Mullet into a fairly nice '99 Hoe, I would be happier if it ran a little better, but we will hopefully getting those issues addressed soon. It definitely drives different than anything I have ever owned but I love the way they look, it has enough room for a my whole family and it has that bowtie :banana-mario:
So anyways here is the long and short, I got it from a kid who claims that the cat is clogged off, so he tried cutting the exhaust and he said that it ran better after he did that, i am going to just assume that it made it louder, so you get that nice chevy rumble when it is sitting there idling, which it does no problem. So i brought it home after driving it and confirming that it is gutless, but i saw a diamond in the rough.
It was acting like it was a 4.3 instead of a 5.7 so I made sure it was making air and i got around 180 across all cylinders, after noticing that the distributor was broken and and wore out I replaced that, first time for me and I am fairly certain I got it right, but it is still idling mint, but as soon as you put a load under it it boggs out, starts gasping, farting, coughing, it will still drive and it seems like it tries to come back to life if i start feathering the throttle like it was an old carburated pile, however I still have problems and she is not freeway ready. I am going to assume that the plugs are fouled and need to be replaced as well as a fresh set of wires probably wouldn't be a bad idea, I am just concerned that i am still going to be having issues. So I guess in short is there anything else that I should be looking for to solve these problems or do I need to start just throwing parts at it and hope for the best?
Thanks for the add and all comments and trolls are welcome. :help:
