The ECM on my vehicle got messed up because my car was started with a duplicate key that didn't have a chip. I assume my car went on security mode, because the dash read "unknown driver", and after only driving about 400 yards, my car completely turned off. At first, I thought it was the battery, but I think my car thought it was being stolen. A service provided through Ebay, allowing me to buy an already programmed ecm for my model make seems legit. It has a score of a 100 and good reviews. I haven't had time to fix the car, and I'm not trying to pay for it to be towed into a dealership. I feel as if i knew the directions, I can pull off the swap.
