Hey guys I just thought I would share with you that my Oil Pump went out on my 07 Tahoe last week. I got in to go to work and I got a Low Oil Pressure Reading so I shut her off and had her flat bed towed to my local dealer. The truck only has 9k on the engine and I am not sure what caused it. The dealer fixed it without any problems but man it really scared me… Can you imagine if I was on the freeway and that happened? Anyone else have any problems?

if you were on the freeway, you would have a new motor in your truck :)

just like anything else, there are always a small percentage of failures out there. take comfort in the fact that this platform (lsx) has been out for 10 years now and it just keeps getting better....

For around 300.00 there is a gauge that monitors all the functions through the computer. It is called the Dash Hawk. I had it in my 05 GTO. It lets you see actual oil pressure, water temp, fuel presssure, fuel trims, o2 sensors. Anything the ECM monitors this gadget will monitor. I thought it was worth its weight in gold. Plugs right into the OBDII port.
See the blue faced gauge top left.....has multiple screens you can set up with various monitoring. Works with all OBDII CAN BUS systems. Will diagnose DIC codes and clear most of them too..
