Hi all,
I recently converted my air/electric shocks to standard gas shocks with Ac Delco premiums. After installing the rear shocks, I noticed a metal on metal rattle when driving over bumps at slow speeds.
So I got underneath the rear of the vehicle and had someone bounce up and down on the bumper; sure enough the shock eyelets were loosely bouncing around the shock bolts (bolts are tight and not moving). I then pulled off the shocks and looked to see how much bigger the eyelets were in comparison to the bolts - there is a definitive difference. I even bought another set of Gabriels to see if they also had similar eyelet dimensions, and sure enough, the same problem.
So my question is: Do others here have a solution for this problem? Perhaps I need some sort of bushing or sleeve to go in between the bolt and the eyelet?
I appreciate the help as this noise is driving me crazy!
