    Battery Occasionally Discharged?

Every once in a while, like a few times a year, I go to start my 00 Yukon, and the battery is dead. But when I charge it with a battery pack, it seems fine. I figured out at first this was due to leaving an FM transmitter plugged into the outlet, which remained on even when the vehicle was...

2001 Yukon cassette adapter halts after playing for a second

3-19 discusses how to bypass the "cut tape detection" feature so cassette adapters work. Basically, turn on the radio, insert the adapter, and within 5 seconds, hold both the REV and FWD buttons for 3 seconds. The tape indicator will flash to indicate the bypass, which will remain active until...

2001 Yukon cassette adapter halts after playing for a second

Actually I found out the issue. When I finally ordered a manual for the vehicle, it said there is a way to disable the "end of tape" detection in the cassette deck, which is what you need to do for cassette adapters like this. Otherwise, it thinks it's at end of tape and ejects it. The manual...

    Driver side window not moving

I tried to lower my windows when it was cold, most didn't move, but the driver side window popped and now the motor seems to work but the window is no longer attached to it, it's staying closed. Is this something easily fixed myself by disassembling the door and reconnecting it, or should I be...

    Door handle lube?

No ideas at all? Presumably it's a grease of some sort? Should I be cleaning away the old grease first or something?

Want to add front receiver (hitch)

Actually it has been pointed out to me, that with a little plow attached to a front receiver (one of the things I was hoping to do, just for my driveway), the air bag might deploy while pushing things. This is a danger? How do I cope with this? Can the air bag be temporarily disabled for these...

Want to add front receiver (hitch)

I'm in Ontario Canada and I'd like to add a front receiver (like a trailer hitch but on the front not rear) for my 2000 Yukon SLT. Where should I get it? And will this be a big deal to install myself? Any tips? Posted photos? Thanks.

    Door handle lube?

I have a 2000 Yukon SLT. It has four door handles that pull out on a pivot. A few are sticky, stiff. One doesn't really go back in on its own, I have to be sure to push it back in myself. How should I go about lubricating them?

    Cd / Aux ?

I'd like to know too. Could I use this to install an FM modulator? So I can connect an iPod mp3 player?

2000 Yukon SLT, No User Manual, Misc Questions

I didn't know about that site. Looks great, but I'm in Canada. It won't register me, but tells me to go to GM Canada's web site. There, they have a "My GM" area where you can register, but it is pitiful in comparison, and doesn't appear to have any owner manuals. So no luck for me.

2000 Yukon SLT, No User Manual, Misc Questions

I bought a 2000 Yukon SLT from a relative, and he sent me the user manual and extra keys in a package via post, but it was lost. So I am without manual, and not knowing what some of the features are, etc. So I have a few questions. I only have the ignition key. What other keys might I be...

    Cd / Aux ?

My new-to-me 2001 Yukon has a button on the stereo system labeled CD/AUX. I can play CDs fine, but what is AUX? Is there some place I can plug in an iPod? Is this some sort of hidden connection internally, e.g. for hooking up a trunk MP3 player?

2001 Yukon no LATCH? Are they available?

So there's only LATCH for one seat, not three? That kinda blows. I need three. I will need four. (I have the third seat.) And if I transport nieces/nephews, five or six. The whole point of having a big vehicle like this is the ability to transport a lot of people. And that includes children...

2001 Yukon no LATCH? Are they available?

Thanks. Do those 2004 seats also fold differently, or the same? My 2001 second seat folds like this... the seat base pivots on its nose while the rear of the seat raises, until it's vertical on its nose right behind the front seats. Then, the seat back pivots on its foot to the floor (the...

2001 Yukon no LATCH? Are they available?

Argh, I said I'd never buy another car without LATCH (got 3 kids, having another). Most of the reason I got the 2001 Yukon was due to needing the room. It didn't occur to me that such an upscale, recent vehicle wouldn't have LATCH, but it doesn't. So I'm using seat belts and locking clips...
