I need a service manual wiring diagram for a 99 Tahoe. I smelt burning, next thing I know I have a dash lights or marker lights. Now I need a wiring diagram to see where to start my search to bypass the burnt wire. Does anyone have a service manual for a 99 (old body style) Tahoe 4x4 4...

    99 Tahoe died while driving

It could be the battery connection still. The alternator is not self exciting, it needs the battery connected to it to work properly. Hardwarz

Door Bushings aka, the good, the bad, the ugly

I sprayed with PB Blasters. Then I took a long 3/8" socket extension and a 2 lb hand sledge to pound the pin downward. That's all, nothing else. BTW, it destroys the exentsion by doing this. Oh... use a screw driver to pry up the retainer. Then use a pair of plyers and rip the retainer...

    Hight of front suspension?

Can someone measure their Tahoe's front suspension from the ground to the middle of the wheel well? (Measured to the bottom of chrome trim) My Tahoe had the driver's side lower than the other by over an inch. I adjusted the torsion bars and leveled the Tahoe, but now the front is higher than...

Had to fix battery cable, now the key fob won't unlock the doors

OK, so I'll pull the power and let it sit for a few minutes and see if that fixes the door locks. As for the gun store. I didn't buy anything for me. Check on ammo prices (Wolf .223 $159.99/500ct & $294.00/1000ct.) Bought FlakJak Tactical goggles & a 10/22 barrel heat shield for my son for...

Brake line Repair/ DIY OR NO?

Last time I went to replace brake lines, there were problems. I couldn't get the fittings out from the master cylinder. Along with that, I couldn't remove the clamps on the firewall. Since I didn't have factory replacement lines, I had bought brake line and a double flaring tool. Double...

Had to fix battery cable, now the key fob won't unlock the doors

Last night, I left work. It was 29 degrees and snowing. As I walked to my Tahoe, I hit the remote start and the factory remote unlock. I got in and drove 30 minutes to the gun store. I shopped for a while and when I went to leave, I hit the remote start. It started and then died. The...

Cruise control not working... brake lights the cause?

I've been having problems with my cruise control. It won't activate 95% of the time. I read on other threads that some problems with the cruise control are caused by the brake light (people replacing the bulbs with LED bulbs, lights burned out, etc.) I tested my brakes and when you touch...

Door Bushings aka, the good, the bad, the ugly

I got my spring compressor from Harbor Freight for $5.xx. I didn't use it because I don't have the spring in my door. The spring retainer broke. I have to get that removed and replace that too before re-inserting the spring. My spring tool had crapy instructions. How do you actually use...

    Blower Motor

Pull the control panel out and seperate the wires from touching each other. Does High start? If so, there's a fix. Go to the dealer and get part number: GM # 15306189 There was a case of bad insulation on the wires and this is the kit to replace the wire ends. I've also had to...

Im thinking its time to sell : (

Mods = one time debit. Once it's paid, it's paid! Gasoline = $87.50 per fill up @ $3.50 per gallon. At 12.5mpg (avg) x ??? miles per week..... that's a reoccuring debit that just keeps going up. It's actually basic grade school math, not macro economics. Hardwarz

Im thinking its time to sell : (

I see you're from Ohio. Problem is, have you seen the current prices on full size SUVs? They've dropped like a rock. Depending on what part of Ohio you're from and if you have 4x4, you may want to keep it for winter and weekend driving. Hope this helps. Hardwarz

Has anyone replaced the bushings on the barn doors?

OK, here's what's happening. I have to SLAM my rear door to get it shut. When I open the door, you can actually pull up on the rear of the door. It's shifting around. There are 4 bushings per door. I'll probably try to do it this weekend and I'll try to remember to take pictures...
