Hello
I just got a 02 Tahoe LT V8 5.3l We got this to tow a camper since my 01 ford ex. sport tract v6 wasn't doing it.

I know the air ride compressor is missing. Not sure about the air lines. I wondering is it worth replacing or go with something different?

The Tahoe has 130k and I wanted to have my mechanic change the engine oil to Mobile 1. synthetic

Then change the filter in the transmission and replace the oil with synthetic transmission oil, his reply was he wont take any responsibility since the mileage is 130k and we have no idea what work has been done on it if any.
I wont flush the transmission. ANY ideas about this?

I also want to do the rear end with synthetic oil and any other systems that needs fluids. Any ideas of what should or shouldn't be change over and if its worth it?

having the brakes done rotor and pad's on all 4 wheels. Taking off the backing plate's. Any suggestions what people are using for braking?
I will be towing & following the sun?

Also brake lines need replacing and fuel lines. Is there a better anything better to upgrade too, if there is? Instead of just replacing.

thanks

A stock air ride compressor will bolt right up. If you swap it for something else then you are responsible for all the engineering necessary to make it work, and if it doesn't work you have to troubleshoot it and figure out why. With a stock one all that has been done.

With 130K changing any of the oils to synthetic may cause leaks to start due to hardening of seals from age, mileage, weather extremes, etc. A premium petroleum oil wouldn't have that problem. There are some that say that is a myth, so change it if you want just be prepared to replace engine main seals, transmission seals, differential seals, and axle seals. Also possibly have to replace the brakes since axle leaks will ruin the brake materials.

If you go down any gravel roads up there, then leave the backing plates on. You do not want a chunk of gravel to get thrown up there and start banging around the brake caliper, rotor, wheel, etc.

Brake and fuel lines, good OEM stainless steel can't be beat.

Good luck.
