i got a slight thump on the drivers front wheel? think its just a worn shock?

Probably your balljoints, or the unit bearing assembly. Just playing you should pull the shock off and compress and extend it to be sure, you can also tell by a choppy wear pattern on the tire if the shock has excessive rebound.
